Alonso was right behind Ralf Schumacher before goig wide!

Michael isn't pulling away. The Ferraris are lapping at a similar pace of the Toyotas.

Michael's gap to Alonso is 5.4 seconds despite going wide!

Ed, watching the Speed Channel broadcast of the race, it seemed that, for a few laps Alonso catches up a bit to R. Schumacher in the first sector, but then seems to lose a little bit in the second and third sectors. Are the Michelins not as capable as the Bridgestones in the second/third sectors or am I mistaken in that thought?


...of course, as soon as I wrote the above, it appeared Alonso finally passed R. Schumacher going into turn 1 after a few laps...... :shock: :shock: :shock:
