David Coulthard will be the first to go out followed by team-mate Christian Klien. Both retired on the first lap in Hungary.

McLaren have been fastest in 3 of the 4 sessions this weekend. Renault and BAR appear to be competitive. Williams and Red Bull look strong while Ferrari appear to be struggling

Coulthard sets a 1:29.764. That is 2 seconds slower than his best time this morning!
Klien next!

Klien slightly faster in the 1st and in the 2nd.
He goes fastest with a 1:28.963. That is a second slower than his fastest lap this morning
Doornbos next!

Doornbos is way off the pace in the Minardi. He pits with smoke and fire coming out of his car!!
Montoya is next!

Montoya is going out early due to his retirement in Hungary!
He is fastest in S1 and S2 and takes provisional pole easily with a 1:27.352
Villeneuve next!

Montoya could be on a lighter fuel load to compensate for the disadvantage going out early. McLaren did this with Raikkonen last race.
Montoya's time though was half a second slower than his best this morning.
Villeneuve spins on his flying lap!!

The Jordan has been close to Minardi over the last few races so I doubt they have found 1.3 seconds all of a sudden!
It is all speculation though and qualifying may give us a better idea!
My point is that for a Jordan be just 2.7off pace (and Minardi 4s) from a light McLaren is very good, so you have to agree that their tyres are performing quite good here. if the tyres were lacking so much grip Jordan inted of being closer to Michelline teams, should be slower (ussully they are ~3.8s off pace) .
I see it clear that the bridgestone are quite competitive here, you'll hve to find and other reason for the lack of pace (or grip or whatever) to Ferrari speed...
by the other hand, those were just practices... let's wait and see what can they do within 2 hours...

sgd, it is only practice and we cannot assume much from the times. The only thing that seems obvious is that all the Bridgestone runners are off the pace.
Comparing practice times causes headaches but if you go back to past Saturday practice sessions you'll see this:
In Hungary Albers was just 2.7 seconds off the pace
In Germany Albers was just 2.5 seconds off the pace
In Britain Montiero was 2 seconds off the pace
Were Bridgestone competitive at those races ?
YES
When we talk about fastest practice times we talk about Qualif. pace:
In Hungary
Pole position for Bridgestone
In Germany
5th
In Britain
6th
those are acceptable Q...
and you didn't understand what i meant, my pint is that Jordan (usinf ferrari's bridgestone(!!)) is not way off pace coampared with prevuous races, so if ferrari is much slower you can't explain it just as "Bridgestone lack grip" because it's obvious that there are problems elsewhere...and taking into account jordan's performance, tyres do not look to be the biggest problem.

sgd, the only race Bridgestone were competitive in was at Imola.
And just to make it clear for you, I am not explaining the Ferrari lack of pace to their tyres only. I didn't say that however the Bridgestones aren't looking good compared to the Michelins.
