Yeah, I have some memories of that place too.....Back in the day when I matriculated we had our dance after-party there, I have never seen that many people asleep on the beach![]()
Not very clever i must admit...

They are trying to clean it up...they have done a decent job at the end of it, towards the harbour entrance.(Even got a nice little kart track down there nowclocked the lap record there last week
)...Made it quite upmarket, a two bedroom flat is going for about R2.4 mil
But the rest of it...well...

F1 Idiots bar
Makes R2.4mil roughly equal to 350 grand. Not too shabby. Especially when you think it's a 2 br place.<T-K> wrote:Think its about R7 to a $gkaytaz wrote: How's the exchange rate against USD?......roughly, havent checked the latest....

The only problem is that the price of property here is becoming far higher than what your average person earns.....gkaytaz wrote:Makes R2.4mil roughly equal to 350 grand. Not too shabby. True.<T-K> wrote: The only problem is that the price of property here is becoming far higher than what your average person earns.....
And true. If a place gets a wee bit popular the real estate prices skyrocket (even many times the rise in the ordinary earnings).jacfan wrote: I think that might be a world wide problem.

Friend of mine toying with the idea of moving over there. He is thinking of either Melbourne or Canberra. Though I think he may be swayed if I were to tell him what real Aussies think of those places (or any other location you guys deem worthy).

Melbourne is great if you like city living. I live just over an hour away from Melbourne. Close enough to get to if I want. We live down near the sea. Though actually more like Bass Straight. It is cheaper outside the city for housing. Though does depend on the money he has and whether he wants to buy or rent.gkaytaz wrote:Friend of mine toying with the idea of moving over there. Have never been to Canberra.

He has about 200 grand (US). Wife, no kids (yet). Dreams of buying some farm-style property. I will let him know, thanks...jacfan wrote:Melbourne is great if you like city living.
