Yeah, RALF can actually be happy not having to drive the 2007 HONDA, one of the biggest downgrades ever, a real runt of a car. Poor old JENSON....C`est tragique

It will be interesting who finally makes NO.4 in the WCC this year....RENAULT, WILLIAMS, TOYOTA or RED BULL?? HONDA look poised to be 3rd - last..

Sounds like common sense.....They don't teach that as part of any Uni Degree!!!!
Things seem a bit quiet around here today. I was expecting a million posts on the race & JV somehow coming up with an obscure reason to vote FA driver of the day.
Sorry didn't notice this thread was talking about Alonso's performance in Bahrain .....
I didn't vote for Alonso in Bahrain, I couldn't find any obscure reason to do that
Nick Heidfeld was my driver of the day in Bahrain not only because of his pass on Alonso but also because he managed to stay in touch with the leaders while the highly over-rated Kubica was like 30 seconds behind!
Hamilton was a close second.
(And Alonso did try to come back towards the end of the race)

Things sure as hell went a lot quiter after that post
There wasn't a flak jacket or tin hat left in town

And I didn't comment on FA's race because of the hornets nest it would have stirred up!
Let sleeping dogs....... , Hell hath no fury........, etc. etc.
Strange how Massa gets slammed for being passed by Nick after a mistake trying to pass Lewis.
Strange that nothing gets said about FA being out driven and passed Nick, and his lack of effort to get the position back.
Oops, I probably just disturbed the hornets

Don't know why people don't slam Alonso if they feel he should be slammed
Speak your mind and don't wait for others to do it for you!!
While I was not impressed with Alonso's drive, it is very different to what happened to Massa in Malaysia.
Also remember Alonso did get ahead of Raikkonen and kept him behind for the first stint. Although it doesn't mean much in terms of points, that was also a pretty good move.
In Bahrain Heidfeld has a very similar pace to Alonso and managed to pass him and stay in front.
In Malaysia Massa was much quicker than Heidfeld and the only reason he got behind was when he went wide so he should have gotten ahead.
In Bahrain, Heidfeld was 3 seconds behind the driver ahead.
In Malaysia, Heidfeld was 15 seconds behind the driver ahead.
Heidfeld's pace was very different.

Yes, but this should all be down to the package the guys had for the day..
FERNANDO, KIMI, FELIPE, LEWIS and NICK will probably dominate proceedings for the next GPs, and whoever gets his Qualifying, strategy, set-up and start right - will look best..
FELIPE didnt drive like s@#$ in Sepang and FERNANDO didnt in Bahrain, their package was just a tad weaker than of their team mates - so no big deal here.

It;s always down to "Run what yer brung", the adjustments the teams can make are finite, each track will favour some teams, and not others....I am sure that if we focused on the "minnows" of F1 we would see similar to that at the head of the pack.

Definitely,
we could talk about TAKU vs.ANTHONY, ADRIAN vs.CHRISTIAN, TONIO vs.SCOTT etc. but the focus remains up front

Don’t get me wrong, I was not trying to slam Alonso! I don’t particularly like the guy, but I do admit he is an excellent driver. I don’t think he deserved to be slammed and he probably did the best he could on the day.
Likewise, I don’t think that FM deserved the slamming he got in the press, even after he showed an effort to get back the position he had lost at the start.
I also believe that FA is actually enjoying the fact that LH is getting all the media attention at McLaren, allowing him to quietly get on with the job at hand.

Anyone who has actually driven around a circuit will agree that passing someone in similar equipment is always difficult. When the equipment is an F1 car which is badly affected by aero, lack of grip off line etc. you develop a true appreciation of the skill and appendendages required to actually do it.
PS please note also that most of what I usually post is said TIC
