He did not come from nowhere.

Quite frankly Jensen button and mark Webber must be two of the most over rated drivers of all time. Webber is to todays williams team what Boutsen was to the Williams of the 80's. Why on earth Frank wants either of them on his payroll is beyond me. If I was Frank Fisichella would be on my shopping list for '06, ok he's had a dud year at Renault but he is still a future race winner and even a possible world champion.

whoa, fisi? I dunno, i think JB is a better driver than Fisi, who seems past it now... He's been outpaced in every single race by alonso and i dont think fisi has outqualified alonso very often, given the fact hes supposed to be a better one lap driver. I'd compare Fisi with Heidfeld. (maybe thats all williams want?)
its true jense is a tad overrated.. but he is actually a pretty good driver, if you can get past James Allen's brown nosing! Hopefully he can prove me right new year.

I guess Fisichella won a race or two

but he was soundly beaten by Alonso this year and many thought the opposite would happen. Lately he has been close to Alonso in qualifying but in the race he is no where near him.
He may be faster than many but after this year he won't be a driver that a team will hire to win the championship. That's my opinion anyway!

Trulli is better than Fisi. He's had some very strong results in the Toyota.

I would prefer to have Trulli in my team over Fisi. Trulli is more competitive in the Toyota than Ralf is and more consistant than Fisi over a race distance. Fisi won in Australia and has done relatively nothing since compared to Alonso and considering he is in the same machinery.

Coming back to the thread topic, I wonder what JB has to say after Japan?
Apart from paying out on the BAR he was given to drive, that is.
What is Buttons record now? Something in the order of 100 starts without a victory?

He does need that first win pretty badly! At least he can claim the car has never won in the past. An excuse others can't make

Yeah, that Williams was as good this year as in any other year!

Every other driver except Kimi, JPM, Fisi and Alonso can make that excuse.

You don't have to go too far back
Montoya won in last year's Williams which wasn't better than this year! Also Raikkonen won last year in a bad McLaren.
Button should have won last year as he was in the second best car but didn't and that shows that he isn't a top class driver.

I concur 100% with your last sentence

Not too sure about that, of all the "good" drivers in Formula 1 I think only Button and Webber have not won a race yet!
I think we agree that the longer it takes for a driver to win in Formula 1 the less chance they have to become Champion. I'd say Button is about there while Webber isn't too far.
It would be interesting to know which World Champ took the longest to get their first win. If I get some time I'll look for that info
