Met with all for brunch. All had a lovely time. Parents in law left restaurant just before the rest of us.... next thing we get a phone call that there had been an accident. Father-in-law had tripped over in the rain. Won't go into all the details but the upshot is that he broke his hip. Did not get home till nearly 1 am Saturday night. FIL was due to go into surgery first thing this morning, so off to the hospital... spent all day waiting.... nothing. He is now due to go in tomorrow morning. I am tired and very emotional.

I am getting over a busted weekend.
Saturdee arvo, after the first V8Supercar Race at Puke,
I adjourn to what used to be the beer garden of "The Scrubbers Delight", before it was burned down last year.....(the tourist who tried to put out the flames with beer may yet make full recovery )
So I am sitting there, me, the dawgs, Piglet, and Harelip.The late afternoon sun is pleasantly warming, the esky beer is pleasantly cooling I am having a quiet winge about having to be towed in by the CoastGuard fellas cos the "Busted Dunny"s carbies were full of water..........me phone burps.....

Bozo........"Bear, the carbies are beaut, waddya say we hit the "peaks" at 5am n get back inta thet school of Schnapper"
me......"goota, absolutely, must be back half n hour before the V8Supercars start"

Bozo, sounding all indignant........"waddya think I am(hurries on before I can get a word in )......I dumped the fuel from my dirty 44 gal, ok?"

Me.............."Busted Dunny" calling Bar Point Coast Guard, please respond"
Me........."yep"
Me......"same place"
Me........."The Skipper is in the water.......... approximately 200 metres from the vessel, fine on the starboard bow"
Me........"because he has just enough intelligence not to come any closer"
Seems that Bozo used fuel from his brother's 44 Gal, which Bozo had half filled from his own 44.
The CG placed us on the lowest priority, I got home in time to see Rick Kelly climbing out of the winning car of race 3
And once again we had to give all the fish to CG, by way of thanks.
Bozo should be ashore any time now

I am just glad my name is not Bozo. I am going to snuggle up under blanky and may not emerge until the next GP. ... I wish. Care to share blanky and a couple of medicinal drinks?
