Alonso makes up 0.8 seconds on this lap. Will he catch up with Raikkonen ?

Raikkonen crashes out of the race. His gamble doesn't pay off and Alonso leads the race!!

Raikkonen's tyre just disintegrated and he slid off the track and into the gravel just 1 lap from the finish!

David Coutlhard is 4th ahead of Michael Schumacher, Giancarlo Fisichella, Juan Pablo Montoya and Jarno Trulli

Liuzzi is 9th ahead of Button while Raikkonen who led until the final lap is classified in 11th ahead of Sato, Villeneuve, Massa, Monteiro, Karthikeyan, Albers and Friesacher.

I don't think is fair gambling with the pilots lifes. I could see on TV the front suspension bending more than it was suppose to 3 laps before the accident... if there were good strategists at McLaren Kimi could be a comfortable 4th! It's a shame!

Barrichello 32s ahead of Schummy... this is something that have made my day!
And Alonso inherited Schummy's luck: two inherited victories so far! It would be very hard to catch him.

Can anyone tell me whether the additional formation lap caused due to the aborted start following Fisichella's problem on the grid counted towards the race distance? Thanks.

I believe the race was shortened by one lap.
