People shouldnt underestimate the political power of team bosses like Ron Dennis and Flavio Briatore who wont spend millions into a game and being f.cked by their tyre supplier. In that case I belong to the 31% who dont believe in a significant advantage for FERRARI

In a famous German sports newspaper I read this week they are claiming the atmosphere between FERRARI and KIMI is totally spoiled because Jean Todt was quoted of asking KIMI to be more private about his party attitude.... a great loadab0ll0cks to me

I heard that Kimi was totally OK with Toddy getting up him, cos he believes Ferrari will give him a car to win the title.

Now, flame me for this if you like, because this is my personal opinion.
Unless the Ferrari is in a class of its own, Kimi will finish behind Massa in the points..Massa will finish 2-3 times more than Kimmi
If Ferrari produces a superior car Kimi will win the title, Massa will do as he is told, and bank the bonus cheque, Ferrari will save "face", and Northern Europe wii either erupt, or go sledding

It is only natural for people to expect that Ferrari will have an advatange with the Bridgestone tyres.
I am stating the obvious but really what would one expect ? Ferrari and Bridgestone were partners for many years. Even if it is just better and easier communcations, that is an advantage.

But going to the degree that they will have a different compound when the rules don't allow that!! Why ? Why would Bridgstone do that ? I can't see any reason for them favouring a team over another. In fact if one wants to spread a conspiracy theory, one can say they will favour Toyota or Honda or Super Aguir (Japanese), or one of the major manufacturers who currently fit non Bridgestone tyres to their production cars .......

I think anyone with a bit of imagination can come up with a ridiculous rumour.

Just like when a new driver joins a team, he will be disadvantaged, the same is happening when a team puts on tyres from a new company. There will be problems early on but things will be more equal a few races into the season.
That is a risk that Renault, McLaren, Honda, etc... took last year when they stuck with Michelin.

Personally I don't think it is much and if Ferrari turn out to be dominant next year, it won't be down to the tyres. Just think about it logically a bit, towards the end of last season, they were pretty much dominant!

My assessment of the pit lane mutterings is that the tyre Bridgestone is supplying to everyone is one that, with prior information, is particularly suited to the Ferrari chassis.
I do not think for one second that they would be silly enough to supply different compounds.

you`ll stick to that and who knows maybe youre right. As I mentioned there are pretty influential people who are concerned and I find it hard to imagine they would let this happen. Jayvee is correct, if a major car manufacturer could be captured by BRIDGESTONE they might be motivated to act this way. But even then I doubt it is their policy as they want to make a good name for themselves in this sport.

On FELIPE beating KIMI I already agreed that this is a pretty likely scenario and that the 6/1 generally available on FELIPE becoming 2007 WDC is a great price(KIMI is 1.8, FERNANDO 2.5)

As far as I know they have 2 tyre compounds in CHAMPCAR racing, a softer one named "red" and the standard "black" tyre. Now the intriguing thing is that each team and driver has to use BOTH in any one race, not sure if its 1 set each. Obviously this represents one more compromise to be made re.car balance.

Maybe in F1 the "red" compound will be a FERRARI tyre and the "black" will be a standard OTHER TEAMS tyre. The least the FIA could do for us FERRARI fans

Making use of "red tyres" is interesting only if slicks are used. That way people (and other teams too of course) can tell what compound a certain team is using at the moment. I don't think they should enforce usage of both sets in the same F1 race cuz that'd border on suicide on tracks like Monaco and Canada... But you never know

The Yellow Tyre will be mandatory at the first pitstop..................so says the rumour..........TK will be rapt..........the incar yellow is a go...........not this season tho

Even though this could make things a bit more interesting I am very much against it. It is similar to artificially wetting the track.

And where could this lead to ? Forcing a team to have 2 drivers (blue and green) race in a single car - half a race each

Creating artiificial excitment won't work!

And I think there would be fierce opposition to the 'red' tyre anyway!!
