What I drive is not what I would like to driver, neither is it what I have been driving, and hopefully not what I will be driving.

In approximate order of owning, having driving privileges:

Lada 1300 ? Parents car
Bedford Van ? Shared with friend transport for our Go-Kart team
Buick Lesabre ? Company car, got stolen
Hyundai Excel ? First personally owned car, horrid ride.
Ford Mustang 5.0 ? YEAH!!! Vintage 1982 bought in early 1990ies, got stolen
Chevrolet Cavalier Z 3.0 ? Fun little ride, the Z signify Sport (don?t ask, I don?t know)
Ford Mustang 5.0 ? YEAH!!!! Slightly used 1990 model, bought in 1992, got stolen
Ford Mustang 5.0 ? YEAH!!!! Almost new bought in 1993, got stolen
Mercedes C 380 ? OH YEAH ? I was king of the road!!!!, sold when moved back to Denmark (1996)
Mazda Miata ? Great little car, totalled in near death accident.

You must be very unlucky with Mustangs K-D!!

Jumping for 5.0 Mustang to a VeeDub Polo must have hurt power wise!!

The Chevy Cavalier, you can add as much letters to the end of it, it won't be sporty. There are very few US made real sports cars!

Do they make any RWD cars anymore ?

But they were all locked, two of them were even stolen from a supervised paid parking lot. My stolen cars were all when I lived in the states, and if someone wants your car, they will get it.

Yes big drop in power moving home to a VW. I could wheelspin the Mustangs up through the gears, while engine howled a wonderfull throty grunt.

Small cars not much bigger than a European Ford Escort, but with an egine crammed in that would give you such a kick. US pony cars, really not big on top speed, it all happend in the low range.

the early shelby mustangs were the go KD, a friend had the same model that featured in "BULLIT", still one of the greatest chase sequences in a movie., we used to take it to drive days at Oran Park, a motor racing circuit in NSW, talk about torque!! Made my land cruiser with a357in chevy look a tad cumbersome

For what it's worth, here are the three vehicles that I drive on a regular basis(listed by year):

1-1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciara(removable t-tops in car roof were never sealed properly following accident when my brother-in-law owned the darn thing, and that was before I first drove it to high school, around 1992 or so);
2-1988 Chevrolet S-10 Tahoe(light truck)(truck's over 140,000 miles and still gets better mileage than all these gas-guzzling SUV's here in the States'), and
3-2001 Chevrolet Caprice Classic(I drive this vehicle to work and wherever I feel like going; I can drive down Interstate 40(the main highway in Western NC) and it seems everybody just gets out of the way...turns out the local state highway patrol unit has several unmarked vehicles, including two Caprices of their own.)

Oh, julian, you mention the movie BULLIT w/Steve McQueen in it; there's a major film blooper in the chase scene--next time you see that film, count the number of hubcaps that come off of the car in that scene(if it is the same movie that I've seen, there should be 5 hubcaps that are seen exiting the vehicle's tires).

Yeah, there is a mob over here that specialises in finding bloopers, talk about need to get a life. I bet the poor fellas don't even have a lounge
