For the inquiry on how come I was up so late for the last pick.
With Thursday being the last day of work for the year

I did stay up later than usual.

I was lucky that I was in a condition to make a pick.

It wasn't done in one go and by the time I got home I was still full of energy.

I don't know how the younger ones do it. They can go all night.

I tried to find out what year the safety car was first used and it appears as if it was first tried in 1973 but then was scrapped until 1993.... so it depends on what Ed knows about the subject.
