The old rumour about Webber pairing with Fisi at Ferrari, Barrichello and Sato at BAR is back.

Deep breath...., a mates mate, who's mate's mate's mate has a mate, who's mate's mate's mate was in a casino in Monte Carlo last night and overheard Todt and his missus arguing about whether she would be allowed to visit Webber in the Ferrari motor home. Todt apparantly said "no, but you can visit Fisi in his" and then muttered something about putting tacks where nails have been

Webber would ruin his career further if he goes to Ferrari. You don't go to a team that has just started its decline
And once Michael leaves, Todt, Brawn, etc ... will all leave too

Did you see Button's latest comments (on the BBC)
If Ferrari are the sixth best team next year I have no reason to move apart from a nice company car. That's not really enough, is it?
I want to be with the best team, whoever that is
The teams to beat next year will be McLaren and Renault. Toyota, BAR and BMW with a chance

Williams are much worse off than Ferrari. So at least it would be moving to a less worse off team. Ferrari will never have any problem attracting some of the best minds in the business. If they are falling behind this year, maybe it is time to inject some new blood.

Ferrari will never be too far from the pace. You also know exactly where your next engine is coming from.

Have you seen Todt's new missus ?

I agree rah but Webber isn't too young to afford a few years building a team (or should that be rebuilding  ), he's tried that at Jaguar.

I am not so sure about Ferrari's chances too! Their last drought lasted a number of years. Just ask Alesi and Berger what happened to their careers

I also doubt that we'll have a new engine manufacturer entering next year. It is probably even impossible given the timeframe. The other teams are already testing their V8's.

It's been rumoured that VW would enter and that won't suprise me but maybe in 07 or 08!
Peugoet would not come back anytime soon after the Prost disaster although the success of Renault could force them to do so.

Sure, but he is not too young. He can't afford to spend too many years building a team.

I think these are different times, a team just doesn't slump that far these days.

I doubt it too, but I would be suprised if Frank wasn't looking at alternative engine suppliers since the begining of the year. He needs a unique engine.

Or the developmental benefits of running the same engine as another team, eg Honda. Honda are "losing face" to Toyota this season, an intolerable state of affairs to them, and one which will result in " seppuku" all over the boardroom if it was to happen next season. Frank could find himself in the situation where he is being wooed by both Toyota and Honda for next season, because of the intense rivalry 'tween the two.

Rumours are circulating (GrandPrix.com, amongst others) that Mark Webber will have Scott Speed as a team mate next year., which would open the door for Williams to attract American sponsorship dollars. It also strengthens the rumours of cosworth engines for next year

What a pity that now most teams enter by takeover and not by joining as a new team like they did in the 80s/90s.

Then we could have a grid with Ferrari,Williams,McLaren,Renault,Sauber
BMW,Jaguar,Jordan,Midland,Red Bull,BAR,Minardi and Toyota.--->
a full 26 car grid!!!!
