Michelin have accepted that they stuffed up. You cannot put bridgestone tyres on a car designed for michelin without major suspension changes and 1000s kms testing

I don't think it is possible for the FIA to ban Michelin as there is no contract between the two. Even if they are told to leave, tyre companies need to give notice by the 1st of January if they are to pull out the following year.mlittle wrote:Considering what happened sunday, it was at least worth a shot. Besides, what if(hypothetically) the FIA prohibits Michelin from supplying tires to Formula 1 for the rest of the year? Those 7 teams' would be forced to used Bridgestones', which doesn't seem like an attractive option to anyone, but who knows what will happen?
I imagine Bernie will enjoy the " bidding" from the tyre compamies for the contract.Ed wrote:I don't think it is possible for the FIA to ban Michelin as there is no contract between the two. Michelin will not stuff up again, at least this year. Their teams cannot afford to give away more points and that will ensure Michelin will not get it wrong again.
Having said that, Bernie Ecclestone seems keen on pushing the idea of a single tyre supplier next year and that was prior to the events at the US GP!
I would imagine one of the tyre companies has already paid Bernie for this idea(read Bridgestone)julian mayo wrote:I imagine Bernie will enjoy the " bidding" from the tyre compamies for the contract.
