Would Valentino be winning without Jerry Burgess? Perhaps but not as consistently and I doubt ever on a Yamaha.[/quote]
Possibly on a Honda.....never on the Yammy

In sport there is never any moment that is the same as the other. I have been in Formula One for 12 years, and out of that I had one year with the perfect car.
Michael Schumacher

1991 debut in Jordan, the team being used to 12th+ on the grid MICHAEL qualifies immediately in 5th...
1992 Benetton not really competitive but MICHAEL wins Spa....
1993 3rd-4th best car but 3 wins from MICHAEL...
1994 maybe 2nd best car MICHAEL dominates totally even against Ayrton driving the supreme Williams, Benetton(Silverstone black flag) plus subsequent FIA decisions leading to the artificial Adelaide showdown....
1995 in a car matching the Williams MICHAEL wins the WDC strongly, credit to DAMON....
1996 improving the desperate FERRARI to go out and win 3, including a field-lapping rain success at Barcelona.
1997 3rd best car but MICHAEL challenging JAQUES for WDC, frustrating tyre wear in Jerez and his questionable move against an over optimistic passing manoevre....
1998 clearly 2nd best car to McLaren MICHAEL loses the WDC mainly due to his crash into an "innocent" DC at Spa, once again having lapped the field in the rain, not to forget he was taken out by his brother in Austria. MIKA was great but still would have found his master....
1999 again 2nd best outfit and another great fight with MIKA until the accident in Silverstone. When MICHAEL rejoined the Ferrari was almost on par but it was too much asking for EDDIE to become WDC...
2000 a competitive year with McLaren and Ferrari pretty evenly matched, MICHAEL wins against a highly impressive MIKA even though he retired in 4 GP, but with 9 against 4 victories....
2001 finally: THE BEST CAR again winning 9, double points to the runner-up in the WDC 123-65
2002 clearly THE BEST PACKAGE and a breathtaking domination MICHAEL winning 11 giving away another 2 to his teammate....
2003 3rd fastest car but winning through MICHAELs reliability, 6 victories against KIMIs 1 and JUANs 2.....
2004 BEST PACKAGE and easy dominance....
2005 an inferior car, 4th quickest at best but MICHAEL finishes 2nd in WDC behind a faultless FERNANDO.....a disgrace for the likes of JUAN and FISICO...
2006 2nd-3rd(depending on track) best package and MICHAEL remains the only challenge to his obvious successor FERNANDO....things might turn around in Indy....
I think its only fair enough that MICHAEL had the best package for 3 of his 15 seasons - and obviously its not down to the car..........
except for those who are blind to see......
DREAM ON
