I am pretty sane and I have to take issue with your anal
ysis. Fernando could possibly have won the race but Michael Schumacher would not have finished second. And I think I ought to remind you as sanely as I can that Jenson won the race and drove an inferior car faultlessly to that win.

What's a side comment?

Or perhaps if you are taking sides and making a comment at the same time...

I feel myself drifting off, a la Fangio

Michael was 4th when Heidfeld passed him. That would have been the best result had he not damaged his steering wheel. Even if he stopped and put on dry tyres he would have lost two places to Pedro and Heidfeld and it is doubtful if he would have made up those positions.
So if both Alonso and Michael didn't retire, Alonso could have won while Michael would have finished 5th.

I guess it was good for the championship that Alonso didn't win!
And good for Button too

Man, you guys get defensive so quickly on this forum. You don't have to take everything so damn personally!

Is that you up there Julian Mayo?
As for the subject of this topic... well the race is run and the winners and losers have all left and some of us are still trying to conduct a post mortem... sad but true.
NEWSFLASH!!!! Jenson Button won!!
and no amount of would have/could have will make any difference.
Ps I just like to personalise everything so that I can put my two cents worth in...
