40 minutes into the session and the top 8 are: Alonso, Massa, Hamilton, Kubica, Raikkonen, Fisichella, Heidfeld and Button

Last year the best time from the 2nd practice on Friday was a 1:26.822 (Davidson - Honda test driver), given the changes in the tyres, the gap isn't surprising.

Expect the times tomorrow to be closer to last year.

Hamilton is impressive no doubt. When was the last time Ron Dennis put a rookie in his cars ?

Webber once again is fastest at the speed trap. Interesting that Alonso isn't in the top 6!
