mlittle wrote:Just so you know, Texas Hold Em' is one of the most popular forms of poker(card game) played in the States'. Here's how you play....

Let's say that a couple of us were at the table(say, myself, julian, jayvee, bundy, lemon...okay, maybe k-d as well) along w/a casino dealer to deal the cards for us. To start, each player gets two cards--these are your "hole cards" that you keep to start. After a round of betting(where you either put some chips in or you fold, and throw your cards back in), the dealer lays out three cards. These are the community cards, available to anyone at the table.

After a second round of betting, the dealer will lay down another card(known as the turn card, or 4th street). Again, another round of betting, and then the dealer lays the down the fifth card(known as the river card, or 5th street). Finally, one more round of betting, and whoever is left presents their hole cards to the dealer. Whoever has the best five-card hand from their hole cards and the community cards wins.

If you still have trouble understanding the game, head over to ESPN's website, www.espn.com and scroll down the left side of the screen until ya' see the word 'poker'. Click it, and it should take you to that page--ESPN's Poker Club. It's a great site, and I hope this explains what Texas Hold Em' is as a game.
Thats what I used to play with Cindy

That'll be a great idea, julian. You see what I mean, good minds do think alike!

As for the dealer...ya' know, pokerstars.net has a pretty good website for poker, you should visit there. Free poker, friendly competition...just like the lounge, huh.

If Ed does get a poker game going, what currency would we use...American dollars, Australian dollars...Ya' know, if we're playing for just fun, we could always use euros(European currency) instead.

Gambling for real is strictly prohibited

For fun, we could look around and see if we can setup a few games here. It could take some time though :D
