If in doubt, make it sound convincing

That was one close game tonight. I thought the poms were going to win...

However Brett Lee and Hussey managed to get us back into the game and carry on to the end!!!

The final score flattered Australia tonight. If Hussey was given out for that ultrafine nick to the keeper, Australia would probably not have made the target.

No it was touch and go.

New Zealand have finally won a game in beating England last night. After another shocking top order batting display Oram came to the rescue in his comeback game from injury.
The bowlers did their job defending a modest score.

Sorry to say that I was not watching.

Good on the Kiwis for their win.

It's a pity that Nathan Astle has retired from NZ cricket in the middle of the triangular series in Australia.

I was hoping that he would carry on until after the cricket world cup that is about six weeks away.
I have heard that he is one of a number of players who do not like John Bracewell's coaching methods. I just hope that Bracewell gets dumped as coach after the cricket world cup.
In one dayers he scored 7090 runs and has taken 99 wickets. In tests, he scored 4702 runs and has taken 51 wickets.

If only the kiwis held catches at the start of the Australian innings they would have been chasing a score they could have chased. I do admire the never give up attitute shown in this match. They came so close at the end.

The Aussies had a wakeup call in the game against NZ. Thinking that 343 was enough on the board, they almost lost it to a spirited New Zealand team. Damn shame about that New Zealand LBW.

Yes very close. However they were lucky or something and managed to get through and that is all that counts in the end.

NZ have scored 318 against England. I'm confident that score would be enough to win.

England beating Australia hurts New Zealand more than it hurts Australia.

Australia were the better side last night. Ponting was pure class. Now NZ have to beat England tomorrow. I hope bad umpiring decisions don't go against NZ.
