rah, when someone (julian) claims Webber can teach Alonso how to drive you'd expect a response from me :D

And since this discussion has started and julian and you opted not to answer :D Webber seems to have preferred driving for Williams rather than teaming up with Alonso, why ? he didn't want to go head to head with him. He was apparently offered a drive with Renault before Fisichella!

As for ruining Fisichella's career, well he has. Before the season started many so called motorracing experts (read F1 Racing) predicted Fisichella to have the upperhand this year. Look what happened!
Now I read someone saying Fisichella isn't wanted at Renault

I would think any racer would jump at the chance to go to the top team of the season. I hardly think that any racer on the grid would not go to a competetive team for fear of the other driver beating him too much. Is every one on crazy pills or something. Do you guys have any idea of the ego that is required to race F1 cars???

Crazy talk the lot of you.

When he first shows Heidfeld how to drive a bad car

julian, both Webber and Alonso were Renault test drivers, both are managed by Briatore, why is Alonso driving a Renault and Webber driving a Williams :?:

The truth is, Webber will not drive alongside Alonso, he wouldn't want to ruin his own career :alright:

Ah, if only the fish would bite so readily. I would never be hungry :crush:

Excuse my ignorance but I have never heard of Webber being offered a drive at Renault. And if he was he would have gone to Williams anyway. It makes perfect sense to go to Williams as they are usually a top running team and they have a lot of history of winning WDC's and WCC'c. I doubt anyone could have predicted William's performance this year. Well except for Ralph, and everyone thought he was making excuses.

To talk of Webber not going to Renault because he was afraid of Alonso is absolute rubish. The fact I am even responding to these accusations against Webber is proof of the shock I feel at someone as smart as yourself saying such a thing.

If you want to talk about Webber making a mistake going to Williams, then I will of course agree. He was offered more money by Toyota from memory. But if you asked anyone last year, they would have all said Webber is going to a top team.

I dont agree with you here JayVee.

Only cos u like the "Cute" dont try to pull the other driver down. Not fair. We'll never know whose better until they drive for the same team -preferably not Renault(cos Alonso is a blue eyed fellow for Flavio).Last year Truli was faster?better? than Alonso in the first half of the season until he had a falling out with Flavio.??We'll never know..Favoritism exists in most F1 teams & will be unfair to rate any driver against the other in their fav team.

Like Alonso in Renault,Kimi in Mclaren,Michael in Ferrari...

I'll side w/kapel on this one, jayvee. It is a bit unfair to pull another driver down, as he puts it. Trulli, for what its' worth, was holding his own agst. Alonso last year until he lost that podium finish to Barrichello at Magny-Cours, after which his season at Renault began to go downhill awful fast.

It is amazing how quickly you guys take sides.

First of all you all seem to ignore julian putting Alonso down when he said
hope so, then Mark can show "The Cute" how to drive a good car
But it seems that for some reason many here don't like Alonso :?: That is your problem :D

Second, regarding Webber offered a Renault drive, well I heard that on the telecast of the F1 race but given that it was by James Allen I said "apparently"

Third, I didn't say Webber was afraid, I said he didn't want to go head to head with Alonso. He may have thought going to Williams will establish him as a team leader while at Renault he'll have to compete with a winner which won't be easy and that is why he chose Williams.

Now looking at the results of this season, he isn't beating Heidfeld against expectations and Alonso has beaten Fisichella easily again against expecations. From these results it is my opinion that Alonso would ruin Webber's career if they became team-mates. And I think this opinion would be closer to reality than saying Webber will show Alonso how to drive.

Thanks rah for your comments  I hope I clarified

Kapel, you know Alonso and Webber are managed by Briatore so don't come up with the favouritism rubbish. And to put Alonso and Kimi in the same boat as Michael when it comes to team favouritism is an insult to our intelligence :furious:
You keep trying to slip comments like that every once in a while but it is obvious to everyone that only Ferrari have such an unfair and unsporting driver policy. Look what it has done to your friend Rubens

mlittle, I didn't pull any driver down. You should say that to julian

Point taken, JayVee. I checked the most recent postings on this thread and reread julian's line about "how Webber could show Alonso how to driver a good car"(sorry, julian, if I mangled your quote) and I see your point. You weren't putting any driver down, it seems, so I probably misread your quote when I posted my earlier message. For what its' worth, I think the reason Webber headed to Williams rather than race w/Alonso at Renault was due to Williams' having a few more drivers'/constructors' titles than Renault. Of course, considering the year that Williams' has had this year, he's probably wondered a few times why he didn't take the Renault offer instead.

All right.I should have misread & misinterpreted what Julian also said!!!
Julian dont pull a driver down, only cos u like Webber!!!

JayVee i know the real situation with Rubinho & know how he was treated at Ferrari & would not like to go further into that.

But i would still maintain, favoritism do exists in F1 team. This does not always conspires to team orders,if thats what u think.

Ferrari- Michael is clear favorite above Rubens.
Mclaren - Kimi is favorite above Juan.
Renault - Alonso is clear favorite above Fisi.
BAR - Jenson is clear favorite above Sato.

Rest i dont know..

No worries mlittle!

On the Williams issue, it is true Williams have won more Constructor titles but Renault as engine suppliers won their fair share
And since JV left them Williams have not won a Championship!

julian I'll try to visit more often

Kapel, that is your opinion but remember Fisichella had a jump start on Alonso yet he couldn't capitalise. Alonso is clearly better but he didn't get there because he is favoured within the team. Same applies to Button. If Sato was any good I would have thought he would be favoured by his Japanese bosses
Raikkonen and Montoya, they are very close and I don't see favouritism there either.
