well.... Flabio said that he will not be signing anything if it means changing the qualifying format....while renaults winning that is..... bt i reckon they should go back to the old format of 12 laps per driver.

I bet Flavio's ideas & thoughts would change once Alonso loses a couple of races and would start at the front of the grid

its because flabio is sticking to the motto.."if its not broken dont fix it"......he reckons that the qualifying format is whats giving them the advantage, so he doesnt want to change it.

I can see Flavio's point of view in this instance.
Ferrari have unlimited testing, McLaren have a 3rd car so if he feels he does get a small advantage from the current format then you'd expect him to not want to change that.
Just like Ferrari won't stop testing and just like McLaren won't stop running a third car.

Thats just it, he refuses to change the qualifying because he says its helping them.......let him just get beaten by mclaren for a while, then he will go running off to try change it (or anything else for that matter) so he can get back on top.
He will see the light eventually.

It is now reported that all the teams have approved the dumping of the Sunday qualifying session and reverting to a single qualifying session on Saturday. The FIA have yet to confirm the new format

Now watch the F.I.A. find a way to mess this up

Hasnt it become a usual thing to change qualifying system a couple of times in a season??
Just when things start to settle down,FIA shows it the door & open their pandora box that brings something new which is even more confusing/boring.
Hope now they come up with something decent.

The new format is reported to be a single session on Saturday with race fuel load with the order determined by the result from the previous race with the winner going out last.
Max Mosely is happy with the change and hopes to get approval in time to introduce this new format next weekend at the Nurburgring:
It's very important to have the grid sorted out on Saturday. It irritates the public not knowing who is on pole.
...
Now it's a question of whether we can get the world council to agree and the rest of the F1 commission
I hope and think it's a formality and I'm trying to get it passed for the Nurburgring.
