Mercedes buying McLaren

Came across an article in Bild Zeitung claiming that Haug wants to buy more shares of the McLaren team and thus take over the ownership. Mercedes owns 40% of McLaren shares as of now but come January 1st that number is likely to go way up. I guess it's becoming sort of a... uh... micturition contest between BMW and Mercedes

That website has now published the info that Merceds has offered Kimi US$64 ,ooo,ooo to stay at McLaren for a further 2 years

Wow that is amazing. Surely an offer too good to refuse. Though having said that, the money is not that important to most F1 drivers... at least once they no longer have to "buy" a ride.
Good position for him to be in, considering he has not had the best of years.

I believe Kimi will go where he stands the best chance of winning the title.

I totally agree. Just blinded momentarily by the sight of all those zeros. However as I said the money is good but not what motivates F1 drivers, or most sports persons for that matter.

64,000,000 is a number that just sounds to good to be true!!
But I would love to see Alonso and Raikkonen fight it out for the title next year driving for the same team

At 1600 hrs Aust East. Standard time. Thursday 17th August the article was still on F1Racing.
