Our deepest sympathies go to the family and friends of Peter Brock, the Australian Racing legend. He was killed in a racing accident earlier today in Western Australia.

Just a couple of minutes into the first session and Davidson (Honda test driver) has suffered a massive engine failure. Session has stopped.

The car is being cleared.
Session should start shortly
Air temperature is 30 degrees while track temperature is at 34 degrees.

Session restarting in 2 minutes. Despite the stoppage, the session will end as scheduled.

10 cars on the track including the 2 McLarens!
Given that the teams tested here last week, you'd expect a few cars out. It could be the fear of showers or thunderstorms later!

Montagny (Super Aguri test driver) is the first to set a time with a 1:29.139.
