How can 3 hours of Formula One motor racing be annoying

:D Good Day All!

I just suffer through 3 hours of Formula One motor racing. Yes suffered.
Tuned into ITV01 Sunday lunch time, with a few cold beers and roast beef dinner with all the trimmings, to watch the British GP, only to be subjected to a method of ‘Brain Washing’ last used by Vietcong in early 70’s.
The continuing and incessant referral to Lewis Hamilton by commentators on the show very quickly became  tiresome, and soon after annoying :x .
Even whilst asking ‘Alonso’ about qualifying the question was loaded with a reference to LH, no wonder Alonso looks so  p£$%^ of$.
The trend towards a quick turn over profiteering commercialisation is killing Formula One motor racing.

Totally agree!

Formula 1 at the moment is like a British media circus. Not only the commentary of Brundle and Allen

But even the press conference, as far as I can remember they only ask the third placed finisher 1 question but if it is Hamilton they ask 3 questions and ignore the others!!
Ok, the Poms haven't had a World Champion since when ??? But that is no excuse!

I wouldn't worry about Alonso though, he swtiches off during those interviews!

I agree, he's a great driver but not the best. I swear i saw both Kimi and Fernando both sigh at one point in yesterday's conference due to all the attention that the 3rd place finisher got

Would probably be an idea to turn the sound off.. or at least down. Unfortunately the commentators have been that way forever.... remember Mansell. Great driver but they way the commentators went on and on and on.... Just as they are doing with LH. B-O-R-I-N-G.
Actually I think the driver interviews are a bit of a farce. Hardly ever hear the total truth. Most the time the drivers look bored and obviously get sick of the same old questions.

jacfan, the interviews are beyond a farce. Drivers are fined if they are late. They are fined if they say certain things. (Remember when Hakkinen got fined for saying "The balance was way off. I thought I had cut a tire, so I came in to get new tires, then the car was really sh!@#$t!!") They are fined if they refuse to spray the champaign!!! No doubt, Kimi Raikkonen was fined for dropping the champaign bottle down to his crew last week (the one that his crewman dropped!!).

I have never thought James Allen was any good at all as a talking head for the FIA. Peter Windsor is as stiff as a board as well. They should've hired Bob Varsha and David Hobbs or Brian Redman or Damon Hill. At least they don't sound like nitwits. He may have said crazy things when he was excited, but I loved Murray Walker. I still do, but the FIA is run like crap.

:x

Murray made many gaffs but his enthusiasm for the sport and the excitement in his voice was contagious. The constant drone of James Allen makes me nod off....

Some days Murray was relatively okay but I remember days where he was simply talking disaster :)

He was always good for a laugh but he had real enthusiasm for the sport.

Hi all :D

I’ve always thought that Murray Walker 8) and James Hunt  made the best combination.
The latest offering of commentators spend far too much time talking about LH or tyres or LH or tyres or LH or LH and tyres.
