2011 Grand-Am Rolex Series

With the 2010 Grand-Am season now in the rear-views, attention has begun to turn to the coming 2011 season. Although the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona has already been announced(27-30 January 2011), the remainder of the schedule has not been finalized. There was one bit of excellent news, however.........the series is returning to Kettle Moraine in Wisconsin.
Grand-Am Returns To Road America

Grand-Am last visited Elkhart Lake in 2000 and 2001
---ELKHART LAKE, Wis. - Road America announced its 2011 season schedule of events, including the return of the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 in addition to the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge.
The two GRAND-AM races will join the Bucyrus 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series during the June 23-26 weekend at the historic 4.048-mile circuit, which has been basically unchanged since 1955. The weekend format is yet to be announced.
The Rolex Series raced at Road America in 2000 and 2001, with both races won by Doran Racing's Didier Theys and Fredy Lienhard. Class winners included current Daytona Prototype drivers Terry Borcheller and Darren Law. The Continental Tire Challenge (then the GRAND-AM Cup) raced at the circuit in 2001.
