F1: Former Team Boss Walkinshaw Passes Away
Sad news today from the motorsports world as former F1 boss and motorsports legend Tom Walkinshaw died earlier today, according to news reports. While Walkinshaw was a good racer in his own right, it was his time as a team owner in several disciplines that he will be most remembered for through his team, Tom Walkinshaw Racing. Fielding cars in Formula 1, IMSA and V8 Supercars, his teams were considered some of the best in the game, especially his IMSA and LeMans endurance teams, which took six LeMans 24 victories and 3 World Sportscar titles along with victories at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and Sebring.
He was a legend who will be missed in the paddock. Vaya con Dios, Mr. Walkinshaw. You will be missed.
