Re: The 2023 Qatar Grand Prix Thread
What have we learned from this first and only practice session for the weekend?
The new surface combined with the sand creates a super low grip surface.
There are so many drivers having snaps of oversteer as they either enter or at the mid point of the corner.
Track limits during qualifying will be a problem.
Red Bull, in particular Max Verstappen, will be quick.

Re: The 2023 Qatar Grand Prix Thread
The words Track Limits came to the fore with many being affected.
Sergio Perez lost his fast time in Q2 relegating him to a 13th grid position for the race.
Carlos Sainz lost his first time and never fully recovered and will start in 12th.
Lando Norris lost both his times in Q3 white Oscar Piastri lost his fastest time. The McLaren duo will start in 10th and 6th respectively.

Re: The 2023 Qatar Grand Prix Thread
Again, the magic words were Track Limits.
On top of that, turns 12 and 13 had their track limit lines revised due to concerns of the kerbs causing damage to the tyres over long runs.
The outside width of the track was narrowed by 800mm in these turns.
Drivers were given a short session prior to qualifying to familiarise themselves with the variations to the racing line.
