The session started on time but the pit exit remained closed for around the first 20 minutes due to water on the track.
The marshals took to the brooms as well as vacuum trucks sucking up the excess water.
Zhou Guanyu hit the barriers exiting turn 5 and brought out the red flags.
There were many other minor incidents of cars leaving the track and passing through the grass and run off areas.

Again the rain came down in varying amounts hampering the session.
Max Verstappen had what seemed a battery problem and had limited running in the session.

Weather forecasts continually had rain imminent however, other that the occasional drops, the downpour never eventuated.
Sergio Perez failed to make it out of Q1 as well as the Sauber pair.
Q2 casualties were both the Ferrari's which came as a shock considering their showing and the previous Grand Prix.
I should add the Logan Sargeant had his best qualifying of the season by makig Q2 and ending up 13th. Great effort Logan!
George Russel set what turned out to be the pole time on his first run while Max Verstappen equaled that time on his final run.
Rules are first to register the time gets the higher grid position so both drivers ended up on the front row.

With time as close as they are, we should be in for a fantastic Canadian Grand Prix. Bring it on!

Best description for the race is a Crowded House song, 4 Seasons in One Day.
The race started off with the track saturated. It did progressively dry and then, Logan Sargaent had an incident that brought out the safety car just as the showers came back. Second place back all had the time to assess and then pit. Lando Norris was too far down the back straight when the safety car boards came out for McLaren to set out for their stop. To rub salt into the wounds, the safety car picked him up and a slow lap cost Norris lots of time. He rejoined the track in 4th just ahead of his team mate, Oscar Piastri. The track again dried out to a single lane and another safety car came out when Carlos Sainz spun and caught Alex Albon and he rolled backwards across the track. Again teams pitted, though this time for slicks, and the race to the flag began again.
