I'd keep an eye out on Rossi joining ferrari in 2007.
I think it will go down to ferrari wanting either alonso or rossi.. or even both is massa doesnt live up to expectations in 2006..
Alonso, rossi.. now that would be an interesting driver pairing, who would get no 1 status?
Also, when Rossi tested the F2004 at Fiorano he had a best lap of 57.2.. pretty quick for someone without an F1 superlicence lol... so my theory is not totally crazy

About your theory, um...well...i dont know how to tell you this.....but...um...

Rossi will not be joining F1, He has Denied any allegations that he will move from two wheels to four.....and was quoted after his F1 test saying that he thought F1 was "boring".......so i think we are quite safe in the sense that a young talented driver may be able to make it in F1 without being pushed aside by Rossi. :!:

I wouldnt rule out VALENTINO to join FERRARI, 2007 as test driver and 2008 as race driver.

He might find it rather boring to win each MOTO GP he likes against "these clowns they make up as my(his) competitors"(adapted quote originally from Lance Armstrong).

Of course he would have to prove quick enough but somehow I feel he would be.

OOOOH.......not even 15 minutes after i read that article about him not wanting to join F1, i found another one from yesterday, contradicting every word i just said......

So that means i have two articles, each one the complete opposite of the other....One says he Doesnt like F1 and the other says he Loves it......who to believe......the pressures....the brain power....AAAAHHHH

He recently completed two days of testing for Ferrari, again. I do not think he is doing that for fun.

When a driver tests with a team more than once, I reckon their chances of landing a drive with that team goes up significantly.

I doubt Rossi would become a test driver, I think he'll do more of these tests next season while still racing on two wheels then race for them in 2007!

As for Alonso The Cute, he will decide which is the best team to be in but with all the changes at Ferrari I don't think it will be a wise move!

What gives it more credence is that they were not interested in getting him on the pace. The two full days were devoted to familiarisation, light and heavy running, different tyre compounds, different settings, pitting, and technical input etc......not exactly a PR exercise from the sound of it.

What would make it an incredible duo, is if Micheal Schumacher decides in effect to stay and renew his contract for the future. Then you'd have Valentino Rossi, the greatest on 2 wheels, and Micheal Schumacher, the arugably greatest on 4 on the same team. That would be one hell of a team you got there

I'm sure the tests weren't for nothing. Now Valentino can come test for Ferrari whenever he wants, there's more to it, there has to be, i doubt they'd be wasting their time money and energy for a publicity stunt. And as said, his laps were pretty quick too...so...
