The BMW Sauber F1 team have just confirmed that Jacques Villeneuve will partner Nick Heidfeld in 2006

BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen said:
We took a close look at Jacques' performance level at the end of last season. After an extremely tough first half of the year - which showed that even a former World Champion cannot come back after a period away and be competitive from day one - he got closer and closer to his team-mate over the second half of the season. We are in no doubt that Jacques will make the BMW Sauber F1 Team stronger
Jacques Villeneuve said:
Between 1999 and 2004 I experienced first-hand the difficulties and complexities involved in setting up a new team, but I've never been afraid of a challenge. Sauber was already a good team and now we also have the resources of BMW behind us. I will do everything I can to contribute to the success of the BMW Sauber F1 Team
Villeneuve will test the interim BMW Sauber car on the 8th of December in Jerez.

You expect BMW to be a force to reckon with then ?????

But even then, don't dream too much, they don't have team orders as such.

I must admit, I am looking forward to the little battle between Williams and BMW next year not that it is going to mean much at the championship level!!

Ijust feel that he will be a handy No2 to Nick, regardless of team orders. A bit like having an extea test driver :crush:

I agree, Nick will wipe the floor with JV, but the laps that JV will put in will be good development data.

FACT: He wasn't fired at the end of the season. Please don't try to twist the facts :furious:
FACT: He won the title despite Bambino driver trying to take him out
FACT: He lost the title the previous year (his rookie year) to his team-mate at the last race.
