McLaren team boss Ron Dennis revealed here yesterday that flying Finn Kimi Raikkonen can leave the team any time he wants, and that a replacement could be signed tomorrow.
Raikkonen, 26, does not have a deal with McLaren for next year and has been linked with a move to Ferrari. He has grown frustrated at the raft of mechanical failures on his car.
Dennis, who has already signed world champion Fernando Alonso, 24, of Spain, to the team for next year?s championship, said he would not force either Raikkonen or his Colombian team-mate Juan Pablo Montoya, 30, to stay next year.
?If Kimi or Juan Pablo think they will be better suited by moving to another team, then they can leave (McLaren). ?Likewise, if I think McLaren can be better suited by signing someone else, then I could sign a new driver tomorrow.? http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.a...986&sec=sports

I think Kimi should get the picture.... :duel:

Apparently, Kimi, who has been rumoured to have signed the agreement with Ferrari from 2007,has a clause which states that if he doesnt get Schumacher's No.1 seat next year, he would get a whopping 5million Euros

Good deal done by Kimi i think,in terms of money

Get this! I read on another website that Montoya is trying to meet with Red Bull Racing to take over from David Coulthard should DC quit or get fired. Red Bull the company sees Coulthard as the ideal image driver, but there is some question as to whether or not he will return to the team next year. Few teams are interested in the Columbian, and Red Bull may be his only chance to stay in Formula 1.

JPM has love in the USA, however, and there is another rumour that Chip Ganassi wants him back. It should be no secret that Dan Wheldon wants to go to F1. If he wins the IRL title this year, Ganassi may engineer a trade deal to send Wheldon to McLaren and take JPM off Ron Dennis' hands. Supposedly, Dennis has been eyeballing Wheldon ever since he won the Indy 500 last year, he's a champion, AND he is British!

Can you imagine McLaren with Fernando Alonso and Dan Wheldon as teammates? Sweet! All this appears to be rumour, so we can only dream.

AND ANOTHER THING....

...JPM and Dan Wheldon are represented by the same management company.

The plot thickens!

Chris, knowing Ron Dennis , he would first groom Dan as a tester before he puts him in a race seat in a Mclaren. (British or not)He would not want Dan's confidence butchered by the Spaniard in his first year

Personally I think Montoya would suit the Red Bull image. He is a loud mouth, in your face personality, reckless, and that would suit Red Bull. Plus, he is Colombian and that is a huge market to sell drinks to. That way DC could go back to McLaren... 8)
