Apparently Renault is going to make Kimi an offer of 48 million dollars for 2 seasons.

Apparently Briatore rushed to paris after the race to meet Carlos ghosn.
Ghosn wants Briatore to continue leading the team and R?ikk?nen will be one of the talked subjects for sure.

They are also saying that if kimi indeed goes to Renault, fisi will get the boot as Kovalainen looks very sure to get the 2nd seat.

Why not!! Renault/Benetton/Toleman should be considered a top team at this point. They've won a couple constructor's championships along with propelling Alonso and Schumacher to the driver's title. Quite frankly, Williams, McLaren, and even Ferrari are playing "catch up" right now.

It is my opinion that Kimi will go to Ferrari if MS retires, but depending on where McLaren, Williams and Ferrari end up in the championship should help the picture become clearer.

Certainly if he goes to Renault, Fisichella will stay. Fisi is a proven winner, and the French engine maker, which has been successful in most all of their F1 endeavors, won't suddenly become Finnish! Why would they?

I used to own a Renault road car, and that sucka was fast, fast, fast!!!
