As most people are aware the F1 guys put on a support round for the V8 Supercars at Albert Park, in Melbourne this weekend. It gives the F1 drivers an opportunity to display their talents in front of the V8Supercar pit bosses, in the hope they might be offered a drive at Mt. Panorama.
Sadly, few have the requisite skills.
Meanwhile the V8Supercar teams use the non-championship meeting as an extended test session.
Therefore the 8npole Supercar competition will not be run.

Sorry Kappy. After the wreckage at the Clipsal, and having to get the cars to NZ for the Pukekohe round immediately after the last race, I do not think it is fair. Some of the teams will be in preservation mode, and the racing (For no points) is likely to throw up all sorts of whacky results.

EG, one team is going to drag out an eighteen month old chassis, with a motor that should be used as a mooring anchor, to satisfy their Sponsors in front of a world wide TV audience tuning in for the support race..it will be one of the best presented cars on the grid. The oil fumes might incapacitate the driver if it is hot

Greg Murphy is a non starter this weekend. The team cannot repair his car in time for the meeting.
