7 February: B·A·R Honda to run Nelson Piquet Junior in Jerez Nelson Piquet Junior will join Lucky Strike B·A·R Honda in Jerez this week where he will have the opportunity to drive a B·A·R Honda 006 car during the first day of the team's test programme. Piquet Junior, 2004 British Formula 3 champion and one of motorsport's rising stars, will join B·A·R Honda at the Circuito de Jerez in Southern Spain on Tuesday 8 February, where the team will continue to focus on its intensive pre-season development programme with all four of its regular drivers. British based "Nelsinho", the nineteen year old son of three-times Formula One World Champion Nelson Piquet, was extended this opportunity in recognition of his achievements in British Formula 3 last year, in which he became the youngest-ever winner of the series in October 2004. This opportunity enables Nelsinho to continue the long-standing association between the Piquet name and Honda, as his father won seven of his twenty-three victories with a Honda powered team.
