True, that Imola race was a classic but don't you reckon it was Michelin who had the wrong tyres then

I cant remember (damn the wild turkey) what happened to Barrichello in relation to the rest of the Michelin runners

Graham, McLaren seem to have run out of V8 engines and are now testing V10 just to make headlines. Sounds like they want a few sponsors for this year
Michael maybe in the same boat. He wants to impress with his times so he can negotiate a better deal

Watch Alonso's times tomorrow. I know they are not after performance but he's fast even when he's cruising can't wait!

If that is the case, I can't see them making up a whole season that quickly.

If you look at the stats, you will see that Bridgestone did less than half the testing that Michelin did last year. If the tire was not good at the start, they had no chance to make it up.

Trust me, if McLaren get any more big ticket sponsorship they will need to field a third car.

If anything Ferrari are the ones trying hard to get the limelight and sponsorship.

Guys, it may pay to remember that Ferrari/Bridgestone are getting so much data input from co-operative teams this year compared to last.

Remember also that bridgstone had the superior short life tyres the season before last, and so have an excelent base from which to start redevelopment.

Barrichello was quick in the V10, deadheating with PDLR. He then switched to the V8, but only managed eight laps( ????)
Alonso says his car is as easy to drive as last years model, and sounds happy.
Webber was about .15 slower than Alonso

Nico was about .5 slower than Webber, Graham.

3rd day of testing at Jerez.

9 Formula 1 teams continued testing at the Jerez track today. Rubens Barrichello driving for Honda for the first time set the fastest time of the day just a fraction ahead of Pedro de la Rosa in the McLaren. Both were driving V10 powered cars. Marc Gene driving the F2004 fitted with a V8 engine was 3rd fastest.

Rubens Barrichello's best time was a 1:16.731
Marc Gene's best time was a 1:18.566 (F2004 V8 ).
The fastest 2006 Spec car was that of Fernando Alonso with a 1:18.706

Once again Anthony Davidson in the interim Honda V8 covered the most number of laps with 106.

There were many problems today. Pedro de la Rosa (engine), Christian Klien (Transmission), Scott Speed (Fuel Pressure) and both Williams had gearbox problems.
There were also numerous minor spins.

Weather conditions were cold but sunny. Air temperature reached 18 degrees while track temperatures reached 23 degrees.

Ferrari, Toyota and Toro Rosso concluded their testing at Jerez this week.
6 teams continue testing tomorrow.

Barrichello switched to the interim Honda V8 car in the afternoon and the session had many red flags which limited their running.

The Williams cars are having too many gearbox problems
The F2004 aint slow
Barrichello must feel unshackled

The F2004 dominated in 2004 Julian. Granted it ran a V10 then but the aerodynamic rules were significantly changed for last year.
We'll get a better idea after the 24th of January when the new Ferrari (F2006 ?) will take to the track.
