Ambiguity, and 1 chance in twenty of picking the right one from the possibles before someone else beats you to it.................come on down

I did not use google. I have a book or two on F1 and the first one wasn't too bad as you gave the clue that the person was English. I mentally went through the list of English drivers and then narrowed it down (mentally) to a couple. Looked up what I could about them and then just settled for one.
It could have been a couple but I just picked one and the rest (as they say) is history.
I would think it would be hard to search through google given the clues we have. Not like we have date of birth or anything like that.

I stopped doing the other triva, cos "googling" takes all the fun out of it

That is the difficulty with such formats on the internet as some people will use the internet to look for clues (many people rely on the internet for their research and have pretty much thrown away the old reference book!).
We have to be very careful that we don't give a clue that can be googled easily.

I am amazed at how good all of you are. Even after the second hint, there are usually 10 or more drivers that could fit the clue but so far we never had to give out a 3rd hint and most of the answers are pretty close!
Sometimes it is frustrating I know but I hope you are all enjoying this!
Thanks for the encouragement

As is I am trying to come up with a name or two on my own. I have an old F1 yearbook (dated 1980) which contains truckloads of info on teams and drivers. I had been watching F1 ever since, so that covers the lot. Then again as Ed has pointed out there are many drivers that fit the profile even after the second clue. The rest is luck

I enjoy it...

So now you can see OK, how's the running doing?

Generally speaking Google is a good source for information but unless you are very specific on what you are searching for you are doomed to go through countless irrelevant pages and false information... Given that Ed provides little to begin with Google does not help much unless you know F1 a bit
