Waiting
And if it was obvious why didn't you say it before it happened huh ?

And why Big Head ?

Many said Heidfeld will destroy him, that didn't happen. He actually scored the first points for BMW and didn't need to save his seat then.

Kapel wrote:No stats here...i meant on consistent performance from a driver over the years, which i'm sorry to say wasnt the case from JV.But when he knew he was not the obvious choice after BMW took over the Sauber team(its only b'cos of his water tight agreement that he drove this year in BMW,not cos they wanted him too)
If u remove the WDC tag from him,his career is very similar to Ralf(u can choose any other u want) in terms of splash performances(Cant compare him to any one-time WDC,not fair to Alonso   )

I know its hurts when ones fav driver is smashed & sacked!
Did you care to look at the cars he drove over those years ? Don't just close your eyes and lock your brain and come up with :blah2: :blah2:

He left Williams to BAR, do you remember how many times it finished in its first season ? then its second season then its third season ? and so on and on ?
How can you describe a driver being inconsistent if his car doesn't finish ?

He jumped into F1 and won the championship in his second year. He then made a bad decision that ruined his career.
In his first 2 years he won 11 races, not many drivers have that record.
Had he continued in a championship winning car he would have won more titles.

That is unlike the driver you mention or some of the drivers that you favour sometimes. I guess that depends on how red the sun is or how silver the clouds are ......

And what happened to Barrichello ? Shouldn't he be the KING of inconsistency ? He spent 6 years in a top team and how many races did he win ?

Are you sure Kapel you are not going on the offensive just because you are shocked that your currently favoured Red driver can no longer dominate on the wet

Just remember on thing my friend, women have very very very long memories. :duel:
You have also forgotten that Jacques was the WDC in 1997. In his first F1 race ever he was on pole, and would have won the race if he had not had an oil leak. His second year in F1 he won the WDC!!! In 10 years in F1 he has had 11 wins and 13 pole positions. In that same time Ralf has had 6 wins and 6 pole positions. NO WDC!!!!
Hmmmmmmmmm
Jacfan, Villeneuve may still be in F1 next year. Even if he doesn't, he has stayed longer than most said he would and has given us great performances that we will always remember.

JayVee I only hope that he is still in F1 but if he isn't then I wish him the best of luck in whatever he chooses to do. He is a driver who does not play the politcal game and is someone I admire greatly, not only as a driver but as a person. Which is more than can be said of the so called "greatest driver of our time".

Hey, wasn't your boy in blue lapped at Hungary last year? And from memory that was in the dry........ But then despite that result he managed to win the WDC. Amazing.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

JV will not be in F1 next year. Not only is he not employable, he is already going to Nascar so he can play with JPM.

That may well be true and I wish him luck if that is what he decides to do. However nothing is official yet. Why is everyone here running JV down? He is a great driver in a crap car. Geez... :box: :box:

jacfan wrote: You want to compare drivers and leave the stats out... yeah sure that makes sense .... NOT!!!! You are entitled to your opinion however I am also entitled to mine and I think/believe you cannot tear a drivers career to shreds simply because he has only won one WDC. One is still better than many of the other good drivers out there past and present. I find your comments to be highly insulting not only to Jacques but to his supporters and believe me I am not the only one.
I don't want to get into a slanging match with you or anyone else but I will not tolerate ignorant comments.
Firstly, even 1 WDC is an amazing achievement by any F1 drivers.U have read my quote more emotionally than what i was trying to convey.Let me put this in simple words:-

JV-one time WDC,was very good in his earlier days in the 1990's,but after his switch to BAR HONDA,he has failed to live upto expectation.I compltetly understand the car was bad so one cant expect wins form him.But in Sauber since 2005,his performance have been lacklusture & inconsistnent( i compared his performance to Ralf, cos IMHO Toyota & Sauber were nearly at par or Sauber a notch above in 2005 atleast)Both drivers in the past 2 years have shown sprut of performances probably to save their seat, but highly inconsistent.

Secondly,Jacfan,i'm sorry to hurt your feeling b'cos i said something abt ur fav driver. But lot of ppl in this forum have to face one's opinion abt their fav.driver, which involves myself almost all the time.N to remind u,U r one of the person who do have a strong opinion abt my fav driver most of the time. Its always criticism & never appreciation even if he does well(dont expect that from u'll anyways, just to make a point)

I'm entitled to my opinion, which i deem fit, criticism or appreciation for any driver, that includes Michael too...
Atleast i'm consistent & not biased.

I answered that, see above

Same as above
JayVee wrote: He jumped into F1 and won the championship in his second year. He then made a bad decision that ruined his career.
This is were i mean Big head.U dont win races on ur talent alone. One needs team+car+driver to win consistent races. He thought cos he won his WDC in his 2nd year,he was the next big thing in F1!!
JayVee wrote: In his first 2 years he won 11 races, not many drivers have that record.
Had he continued in a championship winning car he would have won more titles.
He definitely should,we could have had 3-way battle for us to enjoy. No1 stopped him to stay, big money attaraction(most of the have) + the attitude that he could do it alone.Even Michael had to take his benetton team with him to Ferrari to achieve what he has.
JayVee wrote: That is unlike the driver you mention or some of the drivers that you favour sometimes. I guess that depends on how red the sun is or how silver the clouds are ......
U need to be smart & take sensible decision abt ur future...Red Sun,oh stop it!doesnt go here pls
JayVee wrote: And what happened to Barrichello ? Shouldn't he be the KING of inconsistency ? He spent 6 years in a top team and how many races did he win ?
I agree, fine replace Ralf with Rubinho  I said earlier chose any driver anyway
JayVee wrote: Are you sure Kapel you are not going on the offensive just because you are shocked that your currently favoured Red driver can no longer dominate on the wet
Haha,JayVee,i must admit, but the time i reading ur quote i was feeling a little bad,but this statement made me laugh..Thank U
