That's quite a lot. My list is considerably shorter. Apart from Coulthard: Patrese, Hill, Verstappen, Zanardi, Irvine, Panis, Raikkonen, Cheever, Zonta, Barrichello, de Cesaris, Arnoux, plus a few testers/3rd drivers.

I remember most of them very well. Raikkonen was at Sauber at the time. I wasn't entirely sure if he was speaking english :) Hill (Damon that is) was a nice fella. Cool by nature. 8) Irvine was a funny guy. He'd have a go at anyone and anything without any reservation whatsoever. Barrichello was smiling all the time, reminding me of a dolphin...

Lately I haven't been to the tracks as much as I wanted. :(

I havent met as many GP drivers as all you 'seasoned professionals', but I have met one or two.......

At the Grand prix Masters, Kyalami:
Nigel Mansell
Christian Danner

A1GP Durban:
Jos Verstappen

Silverstone GP:
David Coulthard
Christian Albers

And I met Alonso at Heathrow Airport a few days after after the British Grand Prix.....

I chatted to Jacques V in a bar in Melbourne just after he came a close second to DH in 96.
I said hi to Damon across a crowded pit garage but he ignored me :( However I got to hold his trophy for a minute or two which was quite satisfying in a vacarious sort of way.

Kapel seems to be the only seasoned pro around here. He practically met everyone! Most of my meetings were during test/practice runs courtesy of friends working in the paddocks :) It was a lot easier to sneak in and meet the drivers back in the 80s and 90s. For instance I met Arnoux, Patrese, Cheever and de Cesaris all during the same test day. 2001 was my last success in that regard when I met Zonta, Raikkonen and Verstappen on a Friday.

I always wanted to meet Mansell and Senna; never got a chance :(

Agreed......even at the GP Masters, where there is supposedly a "laid back atmosphere for the fans to meet their heroes".....You couldnt even look into the pitlane....the closest the average fan could get was at the autograph sessions.......

Fortunately for me, I was doing a demo on the Kyalami Kart circuit and had inside access :)

The modern F1 driver just isnt properly trained to meet with ordinary folk like us.....
