Lewis will win it because nobody will be expecting him to win it!
Massa, Raikkonen and Alonso will be so busy squabbly over the first corner of the last couple of races that Lewis will pounce on them and pip Fernando by a point to win the title, his first of many.

Well one could say that about a lot of drivers.... DC.. Barra... Webber...and the list goes on...........................
Maybe I should go for Scott Speed... I haven't heard anyone mention him and champion in the same sentence.

Massa was never championship material as he was and still is erratic. Yes he won races last year but it remains to be seen if he can mount a challenge.

For the top 5 in 2007, I predict:

Alonso [to three-peat]
Raikkonen [missed it by that much]
Button [more consistent threat]
Fisichella [could've been higher]
Kubica [will occasionally blow the door off everyone including FA and KR]

I'm a-jumpin' in here ... consider this:

Ron Dennis has never started a rookie since taking over McLaren. Hakkinen tested for McLaren behind Michael Andretti before taking over at the end of the 1993 season. Raikkonen came from Sauber. Jan Magnussen filled in for a ill Hakkinen in 1995. All his other drivers came from other teams.

Hamilton has been as successful if not more successful in the junior formulae than Senna, Brundle, Hakkinen, Magnussen, and Michael Schumacher (a few of the most successful who made it into Formula 1). Only two of these guys never won a championship. The others, as you know, won multiple World Championships.

Snowy is betting on pretty good odds!

I have considered it...... I won't tell you what I consider it to be but surfice to say that I don't take my tips from the snowman. He has a vested interest in LH... being that LH is apparently his love child... though I have yet to hear who the mother was.
At one stage all we heard from the lips of the snowman was the name Jenson Button and how orgasmic it was when he won a race but now .... presto... JB relegated to the realm of "who?" and we are all looking forward to hearing about LH for the next twelve months or so.

Even with the 2nd / 3rd quickest car, Alonso would still be a contender each race weekend. From testing times, it appears that the Mclaren is reliable and bettered in raw speed only by the Ferrari. I think that this is enough for Alonso to secure his 3rd WDC as he is far more capable of putting together a complete race weekend to maximise his possible points haul than either of the Ferrari drivers who lack the discipline and maturity required.

Whether Mclaren can win the Constructors too will depend on if Hamilton is able to consistently pick up enough high points and podium finishes - I doubt that he will be close to Alonso in any of the races.

Of the rest, my predictions are that:
Kimi will edge out Massa into the runner-up spot;
Honda will outperform pre-season expectations with Jenson finishing 4th in the championship (ahead of Rubens again!);
Fisi will outscore Heikki but Renault will fall below both Honda and BMW with Kubica impressively outscoring Heidfeld.

FELIPE will go away with the championship, I expect him to win at least 7 GPs with FERNANDO and KIMI the only other multiple scorers at 4 GPs each. Other winners JENSON, NICK and HEIKKI.

It is not all of a sudden with FELIPE, he was a great talent right from the start. Last year, for the first time in a top team, he was mighty impressive being the closest ever to MICHAEL in the same car. No question he will do another major step forward and altogether I think he is more complete than KIMI. Of course, with a similar or better car, FERNANDO is the threat.

Cant wait for Melbourne!!!!

Agree about Filipe, unless of course it rains

MS absolutely blew him away in the wet (as did most of the field) and the only recent test I recall Kimi being faster than him was in the wet.

My heart says Massa....

From testing times we all can see that Ferrari has a slight edge over Mclaren in terms of speed...both the cars are semi reliable...and how they develop over the year in terms of their reliability would be the key to championship...

Alonso is in a great position...his teammate would not compete with him as he's still on his learning curve..whereas Kimi is championship material & Massa is trying to prove that he's is among the top with Alonso & Kimi.
Massa & Kimi could share victories & steal points from each other if Ferrari turns out to be like F2004...But with better reliability, Mclaren with Alonso is definitely favorite IMHO.

Well perhaps not the WDC title but the Aguri team is improving quite fast. I wouldn't be that surprised if they end up in the points in a race or two.
