But Massa is overflowing with confidence, its going to take a lot on shuey`s part to bring him down...
ok, so maybe massa is a bit erratic in his driving style, but he seems to be coming right, and in the not so distant future, i think he will be challenging for the WDC with Kimi, Alonso (and JPM )

He is no stranger to Ferraris, and they suit his driving style....look out Schuey...Massa does not have the temperament to play second fidddle, Todt knows this....the politics of Massa's appointment are interesting.

Julian,this thought did cross my mind a while earlier.Could it be that Schumi is getting bigger than Todt,which the frenchman doesnt like anymore???

Things could get REALLY interesting if that is the case...

I have a feeling that there will be quite a rivalry between Shuey and Massa, and i think it will bring out the true racer in Massa..

Cerainly there is something to that thought. I made mention months ago, in a light hearted fashion, that Todt was being distracted by his new wife, because I felt that something was not right in the team...apart from the fact that they were suddenly not winning. Since then we have seen some desperate driving from Michael which has seen Barrichello bid him farewell, ( it is one thing to pull a desperate on a rival from another team. Mr Todt was not happy when 2 very expensive ferraris nearly went into the fence at Monaco ) we have seen some truculent behaviour from Michael in post race interviews, and in the pit after retiring. Todt has just come out in the press to squash rumours that neither he nor Schuey are retiring at the end of the year, which is something I suggested could happen, perhaps he reads our posts! I have suggested that Mrs Schuey is not happy, and wants to spend weekends in the new castle with her husband. Lets not forget that motor racing is a bloody dangerous game, and people she new well are dead. Motor racig places a hell of a strain on spouses!...And Ferrari is paying Schuey an enormous amount of money when FIAT is cash strapped,,,,,,hmmmm .....the thlot pickens as they say inthe classics!

Hmmm.... I doubt Massa is quick enough to beat Schumacher.. I mean I hate the guy but you still gotta respect that someone who has won the WDC that many times is incredibly quick himself, its not just down to the car and the team ( and his b1tch )...
Massa might be putting JV in the shade, but the guy has been with Sauber for a few years now, and the car is well suited to him/ he's well suited to the car. I hope JV doesnt quit F1 at the end of the year, although i dont see him gettin a driver anywhere else if BMW dont want him...

Also, I think it would be a real shame for Kimi or Alonso to sell out and move to Ferrari in the next few years, but i expect ferrari will offer one of them a deal they cant refuse

Massa was pretty quick when he was test driving the ferraris...., maybe when ED, or JV, has nothing to do they could dig out some old time comparisons

Well, as a Brazilian, having Massa at Ferrari and Barrichello at BAR (which IS confirmed - the disclaimer was added to the topic I created by somebody from newsonF1) is very good news.

I don't think Massa is as good as Barrichello. I don't think Barrichello is as good as Michael.

That said, I must say that I think Barrichello should have left Ferrari long ago, cose Michael rules there. But who would do it? Making as much money as he was making. Driving for the most charming team. Hoping for the same luck Irvine had in 99.

The number of problems that happened with Ruben's car is ridiculous. Not to mention some times he could not start the race or the time he ran out of gas when Schumacher was out of the race in Brazil. More than once Schumacher had a car with some new development that Rubens had not. Whenever they use different strategies, Michael chooses first. The other one is left for RB, to cover all possibilities specially with those tires that are far worse than the Michelins (Indianapolis/Firestone infos aside).

I repeat: Michael is better than Rubens, no doubt. Michael is also better than Montoya. He is WAY better than Alonso. With the same car, the only driver I think could face him is Kimi. Nevertheless Michael would make more points than Kimi racing for the same team during a 19 races championship.

Massa will be #2 in 2006. And if he stays will Ferrari in 2007 he will have Kimi OR Alonso as the #1. That's the way it goes at the Scuderia.

I Disconcur Well i concur on certain points (like Kimi being able to beat him)

BUT i think that Montoya could Easily Whip the pants off Shumierda if he tried.

Whilst it is widely reported that Barrichello will be driving for BAR in 2006, neither BAR nor Barrichello have officially confirmed that. Until then, the title of the topic will have the "Unconfirmed" disclaimer.

Perhaps the fact that Alonso is the youngest ever F1 race winner and will be the youngest F1 World Champion is irrelevant ?
Perhaps the fact that despite his age, he is one of the most consistent drivers in F1 today is also irrelevant
Perhaps the fact that he has nearly triple the points his team-mate has while Michael doesn't even have double the points his team-mate has is irrelevant

All that and the fact that Michael's preferential treatement inside Ferrari may also be irrelevant

Or is it that you have to use dirty tactics on the track to become respected
