Massa to Ferrari in 2006 (Confirmed)

Post by <T-K> » Tue Aug 02, 2005 9:35 pm

Lately there have been many stories about who will go to Ferrari to replace Barrichello, and the newest developement is that Massa will be taking over the second seat at Ferrari, and that there are strong links between Massa and Todt (of course because Todt's son is Massa`s manager)

Does anyone know any more than i do? if so, please share! :?

There is the other thread that talks about Rubens. Have a look at that.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

Wasnt this predicted by Julian sometime back.

Looks like Ferrari will always maintain their stance for No.1 & No.2 driver.
No offence to Massa, but i think Michael will blow him away plus massa is very aggressive & just manages to stay on track or i should say he's off track more

After Michael retires in 2006,Kimi or Alonso whoever replaces him at Ferrari would enjoy the same treatment as Michael did.

Mayb i'm wrong & we might see Kimi & Alonso both in Ferrari in 2007

One can only agree that FELIPE will be another No.2 driver at FERRARI.

But honestly, who could be a potential No.1 against MICHAEL? If we agree on similar pace from KIMI and FERNANDO, possibly JENSON, even if they joined the team for next year they wouldnt find it too easy to upset MICHAEL..

Im looking forward to see RUBENS against one of those young guns because Im sure he would prove(to those who still dont understand..) MICHAEL hasnt been No.1 just by contract.

FELIPE will be much better than some people think, the way he dominates JAQUES(and he got going in the meantime) is highly impressive. Cant agree on this off-track stuff, if you drive a SAUBER and want points, a great effort becomes necessary..

I have just read on the i-tv website that it is confirmed that Massa WILL drive for Ferrari , and it also states that Klien will be driving for RBR in Turkey and Italy, and not Liuzzi as was previously set out....

And just to add my little two cents worth, i think that Massa will make complete idiots out of all his critics, as i think he is going to shine at Ferrari.

One can only hope. Ferrari are not known for taking risks.

Massa might just give Schuey a wake up call. It could be fun to watch.

Yup, I sure did predict this a while ago, and I predict that Massa and Schuey will tangle, IF Schuey does not retire.

He sure did agree with my prediction then but didn't put Massa in his predictions. I say julian didn't think it was possible

On the issue of Massa driving for Ferrari, well it is known that no top driver would accept second fiddle to Michael. Barrichello was fed up with the unfair situation and is going, Ferrari had no choice but to hire a driver who doesn't mind being second.
No matter who will drive alongside side Michael it will always be a weak lineup becuase of the team orders. And before anyone starts telling me there are no team orders or Michael is what he is without them, answer these two simple questions:
- If Ferrari's policy is for their drivers not to challenge each other after the final pit stop, why did Michael overtake Rubens on the final lap in Monaco ? This policy only applies when Michael is in front
- If Michael is the great driver some people think he is, then why the need for team orders ?

This Ferrari philiosophy is damaging the sport and even though they are being beaten badly now they are sticking to it. It will go once the current managers go and that will be in a year or so :D

I doubt Alonso would accept preferential treatment in any team he joins and neither would Raikkonen. They prefer to beat their team-mates on equal terms. Alonso - Kimi at Ferrari, that would be cool. Of course there won't be team orders then!!

Maybe they are grooming Massa. He would only have to play second fiddle for a year or two and then he COULD be the lead driver. That is a good oportunity for any young driver.

I doubt that Schuey willl be able to pass Massa as easily as Barrichello. He might have trouble catching him for starters. Then team orders will be interesting. I don't think Ferrari cares which driver wins as long as it is a ferrari driver.

I agree with rah on grooming the driver, but under Michael, who will on most occasions will ruine Massa confidence, team orders or no team orders,Michael is way better & much quicker than Massa.I dont even want to discuss car control...
