When Michelin leaves all the teams will have the same crap tyre

i agree... Bridgestone tyres doesnt sem to be as good. look at ferrari's tyres now? there might be improvements in the new tyres but is that a guarantee??

No, but with the new regulations and V8 motors coming in for next season, is there any guarantee that Michelin will get it right?
One thing I can't forget is that there have been some major failures of Michelin tyres this season, on various chassis'. Toyota, McClaren, Williams, have all suffered from Michelin mistakes. And Indy goes without saying.

Yeah, but at least it will be able to be used at all the tracks.
Stuffing up on 1 track but dominating the rest ? That's very acceptable.

Apart from the V8 engine, is there any other change ? I don't think so ?
How will the V8 make it better for Bridgestone and worse for Michelin ?
Speaking of failures, yes there were some major failures for Bridgestone too and they only had to supply 1 competitive team

The V8 engine is 2 cylinders shorter, and lighter, which alters the weight distribution of the car,& which changes the mounting points for the rear suspension, which alters the the suspension dynamics, all of which alter the performance required of the tyre.

I suppose what you say is right but if a tyre has grip or lacks grip it will still have grip or lack grip taking all the above into consideration

A lot happens in Winter testing (just ask BAR). Especially when Bridgestone have more data coming their way.

The thing with all the chassis changes is that this years rubber aint worth a pinch of pooh for next year. It will require different wall construction for starters, grip is only part of the equation.

Even if this is true - which I doubt but I am no tyre expert

- history has shown that Michelin get it right quicker than Bridgestone.
They'll have to again wait for a copy of Michelin's tyres

well, you certainly are no tyre expert. For the same reasons that the michelin shod teams at Indy could not throw bridgestones on without destroying their suspensions, they will not be able to use this years tyres.

Still doesn't mean Bridgestone will be on par
I guess now that Webber who drives for Williams who will be using Bridgestone tyres next year you'll be hoping they will come right. Funny that!!
You can hope and good luck but Bridgestone will not get it right next year

JV, I mean this sincerely. I find it a tragedy that Ferrari, and Michael were unable to mount a challenge this season. I believe a major reason for this was Bridgestone tyres. I would have loved to see Michael beaten on equal terms. As it is he can blame his poor showing on a component supplier. For this reason, yes I hope Webber will dare better on Bridgestones, and I hope every other driver has equal tyres, regardless of the brand.

Equal terms

So a Ferrari is equal to a McLaren or a Renault if they are on the same tyres
Michael accepting blame, nah, he would have then blamed the engine or the chassis

JV, for goodness sake read what I post! Then do not put your own spin on it! Did I say ferrari would have been equal....NO! I said.. " a major reason"..no more and no less. Or are you in a contentious mood and determined to bicker and argue for the sake of doing so
If so I would be delighted to give you the phone number of the Ex- Mrs Mayo.
