A team that has yet to win a race cannot win the championship

But tell me, how can they win the championship if Trulli and Ralf are 4th and 7th .... I know I know :D

Still picking Alonso for the WDC shows style. I am going to have to struggle with you in 8 'n' Pole :D
well I did say in my post that I thought it was all bollocks.

I think Toyotas will be the finishes this year. Maybe not a win, but definatly going for the constructors. They will have no hope of the drivers.

While I may not be anywhere near as vocal as you about it. I do like Alonso.

Interesting tipping lads and ladesses

Rah and Bundy have Williams securing top 3 with only MW in the top 10 . . .

and i agree with Jayvee . . . toyota need to win races to win constructors and I just cant see them doing it. more importantly, i dont want to contemplate seeing them do it.

and then there's Julian . . . whose reputation is enviable . . . coming in with this:

I think it is a bit early for this but since I was asked I will put in my predictions for the upcoming season.

Here goes ...

Drivers Top 10

Fernando Alonso
Jenson Button
Michael Schumacher
Kimi Raikkonen
Rubens Barrichello
Juan Pablo Montoya
Giancarlo Fisichella
Jarno Trulli
Ralf Schumacher
Felipe Massa

I expect a very close season with at least 3 drivers fighting for the championship. Having Alonso and Michael in the top 3 is pretty much a given. But Button in 2nd  Honda seems fast and reliable in testing.

Constructors

Renault
Honda
McLaren
Ferrari
Toyota
BMW Sauber
Williams

I think initially Renault, Honda and Ferrari will score the most points while McLaren will have to play catch up. Williams could be strong early in the season although they appear to be having reliability problems at every test.
I must admit that I am surprised with the strong pace of the BMW Sauber.
Red Bull haven't been setting good lap times but they could be a surprise too.

Also note that we will be setting up two polls very soon (I am told) for the Drivers' and Constructors' Championship :D

So you'll be putting in your 'serious' predictions a bit later. That's a relief

But seriously, how much more knowledge will we gain from now until the eve of the Bahrain event ? 10% ?

Very true (but does that mean if they fix the gearbox you'll place them in the top position  )

I do hope for the sake of the Williams team - and Mark Webber as well - that they do sort out the problems before the season starts and look at the performance. It is the early races that Williams have to capitalise on as they may have a more powerful engine and I suspect that by mid-season several other teams will have equal or more powerful engines.

If this car isn't up to scratch expect some very major changes at the team.

I was referring to other teams as well. If Williams don't have a couple of trouble free test runs I wont be picking Mark until he replaces Ferdi mid season 8)

Ah...i think i am a little late ..but here are mine....

Constructors:

1) Williams (Webber will drive the best season of his career...and they fix that gearbox up)
2) Renault (Will be caught off gaurd by Webber's speed)
3) Mclaren (Now that Newey has left...)
4) Toyota (If Ralph can keep it out of the walls, then it could be higher)
5) Ferrari (Shumi has lost the plot)
6) B.A.R (buttons poor showing will bring then down)
7) Red Bull (Now that Newey has arrived...)
8.) Sauber (Heidfeld will perform, but just not enough)

Drivers:

1) Webber (Will take the Championship by 1 point in the best season of his career)
2) Pablo (will be upset after it looked like he would take the championship)
3) Alonso (In a close field, he will get caught out a couple times)
4) Kimi (Just not enough to take a top three position)
5) Shumi (he has lost it)
6) Trulli (should be able to hold on)
7) Nico (Will have a blinder of a first season)
8.) D.C (with a good car he should do well)
9) Fisi (sorry, but just not enough)
10) Chello (Will bury Mr Vanity)
11) Heildfeld ( should outdo JV)
12) Massa (how can you do much better when your job is to help shumi win "at any cost")

There we go...that should do just fine for 324th.....could be a close fight Julian....
