Imho, Nick is one of the top 5 drivers, Webber was hardly disgraced as his team-mate.
Button had Sato.

Here's a topic for a new thread. Put all the drivers in the same car, who would win?

My top 5
Kimi
FA
MW
NH
GF
Slight correction:

Webber was 4 points behind Heidfeld :D :D :crush: :crush:
As for bad luck, both had 5 retirements each

But what were the circumstances of the retirements. If you recall MW was shunted off the track by GF whislt in 3rd position in about the 3rd race of the year, etc etc etc

Shunted

Oh no, not that discussion again.

Bad luck does not mean switch brain off and hope for the best :!:

And your definition of 'regularly beating him', how does that work if he was behind in the points. Occassionally yes, regularly

I can only recall NH finishing ahead of MW once or twice. That is when both finished the race.

Mark didnt like him. So he made him look good, get an offer from another team, and clean out the ranks.

The plan was that button then join the team. Flog him, cause he cant drive, and then gain respect.

He got half way there.

Interesting plan...Perhaps Jens saw through it and that's why he was so adamant not to join Williams. Personally I don't think Jenson would've lost that one but he does appear to be a scaredycat :? when it comes to picking a drive. :x

It's been an odd two years for these two drivers. While I'll admit that I'm biased towards one, I still think Webber is the better of the two when it comes down to it.

'04, Button rolls him but that's because of the machinery. Even so, Webber still manages to qualify P2 in one of the races, in an 'inferior' machine.

'05, Webber does better, but only because of BAR's problems. Even so, when the Honda managed a few laps, Webber rolls him anyway.

'06, THIS year, I think both cars are looking good. Fast AND reliable. So it should come down to the drivers. And I just think Webber will win that one, despite my impartiability towards him. Why? Simple, he qualifies better, and will have no problem at all this year considering mistakes don't matter. Then, he can hold his own during races, so I seriously doubt he'll let Button get past him.

As a critic said, MW's a "let's cut the b*llsh*t and get down to business" driver whereas JB's just preening himself in his mirrors.

Forgive my ignorance but were not these part of the results of last years championship? Did not jenson miss 2 races because of a ban and loose points for a podium finish? Are you really saying that in 2005 Jenson still had a car advantage and under performed. I think we really need to have them in the same car so we can clear this up once and for all. What about a race of champions style F1 challenge?

9 Jenson Button BAR Honda 37
10 Mark Webber Williams BMW 36
11 Nick Heidfeld Williams BMW 28
23 Takuma Sato BAR Honda 1

5 Williams
6 BAR

JB "I can see myself and MW in my mirror, I'm lookin' good." 8) :burnout:

Here here. Its pom logic. They win the ashes and therefore they are a better team.

No, no, no . . . life isnt that simple. We are the better team . . . despite the result. MW is a better driver, despite the result. Jenson would have cried to his mummy if he had a burnt bum - taken 16 weeks of for plastic rehabilitation . . . etc etc
