JayVee wrote:Guys if Alonso has 4 Championships by the age of 28 surely it would be easy enough to win 4 more by the time he is 36, that is a 50% success rate.

Why 36, cause he is the type that will retire at his peak :D :D

The only competition to Alonso IMHO in 2008 will be from Kovalainen and possibly Rosberg.
Done Well Done, don't know how will Well Done do in F1 but the odds are against him. Has he ever driven an F1 car ?
If Well Done does well in 2007 then maybe in 2008 but this is wild speculation
It is not that easy to win a WDC, otherwise they would all be doing it.

What kind of driver would quite at his peak??? Stikes me as a bit weird. Has anyone?

What about 2007?

I don't think Denis is the problem after all he has lured the hottest property in F1. It would seem they have a Mercedes problem, you know they manufactured a road car that actually fell over when you went round bends! :? They actually sold hundreds perhaps thousands of these cars to people!

Kimi is really boring isn't he? :x come on, you don't honestly expect us to believe that Chris?

Nigel Mansell would still be driving and possibly winning in F1 if you gave him the chance. You only have to go across the pond to see how competitive these guys are and how they have to be crow barred out of their race cars.

Of course it isn't easy, who said it was

But this is Alonso The Cute who won his first title at 24 with ease. He'll win the second this year also with ease so that's 2 at 25.
At 26 he'll fight hard for the championship but will still win it and at 27 he'll easily win his 4th.

Things could get a bit harder as Kovalainen gets stronger :D that is why I gave him a 50% success rate

Nothing weird about but I don't know who has done it in the past.
It would be way cool in 10 years time for Alonso to announce his retirement once he wins his 8th title. (Just remember who predicted this OK  )

2007 ? Answer above

I could imagine that if Fisichella is finishing right with Alonso but that isn't happening so that car isn't that much faster than the rest of the field.

No, Alonso won't be looking at the tail of the Renault next year

Something for sure has gone wrong at McLaren but they have done wonders in the past rah
But I dont think Fisi is at the dump stage yet. He was second on points until last round, bit early yet.

Depending on who is in the Renault. Both MS and Kimi can beat Alonso and next year one of them might have the Renault.

You can wish all you want, but I have been wishing that for Williams for a couple of years now.
Ok let me put it this way, do you think Fisichella is championship material ? Ok then why would Renault keep him ?

Kimi and Alonso could be in the same car and Kimi would have a big advantage with his team knowledge for years but that would be the ultimate option for me and I hope he stays so you can see what Alonso can do in a new team against a "world champion material" driver.

Wishing what ? These are not wild dreams, I am being very realistic

Read your posts JayVee, you said it would be easy to win 50% of the champioships. You also said he won it in 05 easily. Not quite right by the way. 04 showed an easy season. 05 was hard won and well earned.

As for the rest, I guess optimism in a fan is ok.

In regards to Fisi, No I do not think he is WDC material. But there is a long list of drivers that are not WDC material and they still have drives, and will do next year.

Judging by Imola, I've never seen Kimi so uninspired, so yes, boring!

What I mean is Ron Dennis works better for drivers that are highly motivated to win even when they don't think they have a chance. Kimi does not remind me of Hakkinen these days. He reminds me of Button. Very talented, but not as opportunistic as a potential champion needs to be.

He is driving a car that is pretty darn close to being one of the best cars on the grid. His performance at Imola was pathetic.

I don't think Alonso The Cute will make any wrong moves
The experience and skill he is showing now at this age means that he still has room for improvement   and that is a scary thought for the other drivers :D
He is on track to become one of the greatest F1 drivers and I beleive he will get there.

Time will tell of course

I hope so. He is an entertaining driver to watch and I like him.
I really do hope the McLaren switch goes well, but I worry, oh how I worry.
