How many Championships will Alonso win ?

Post by JayVee » Wed Apr 26, 2006 5:27 pm

Yes I am a crazy Alonso supporter but seriously what do you think ?

So far this year, he has been amazing. I reckon given that he has a decent car he'll easily win more than 7 :D :D :D

Ed, can you please create a poll:

- Once
- Twice
- Three Times
- More than Three but less than Seven
- Seven
- More than Seven

We may have to wait a while before verifying the results

This year I have changed my song slightly, and I think Alonso will take the championship......next year, I dont hink he will, because it will be his first year at Mclaren, and he will stil be getting used to the car etc.

And I think with Mclaren he will eventually end up winning two more(Not necessarily one after the other).........So four all together....

I am starting to think McLaren have lost their way, and wont get better til Denis calls it quits

I think it depends on how long he stays at McLaren. I think he will do well at McLaren, but I think in the end McLaren will let him down. They just don't know how to put it all together.

Maybe if he took some engineers and managers from Renault with him it would be easier. Just like MS. I wonder who will be the lucky driver next year to score Alonso's seat. He may spend a lot of next year looking at the tail of their car.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

We can only wish, however I think that will be as close as we get.

I think Ron Dennis needs to be excited about his drivers. Next year he will have Fernando Alonso, and I believe he will be excited about his driver again. You will see a change in the team.

Alonso has that winning edge and attitude, but he is gracious, friendly and unpretentious. I would not describe Juan Montoya that way. I read that Kimi can be very closed and moody in his own way. Alonso is open and confident, much like Prost or Senna. Hakkinen was the last McLaren driver that had that winning edge.

RD has never been a driver developer. He has generally gone after the hot talent around at a given moment. Once he gets the 2-time championship winning Alonso in the team, watch the sparks fly.

In another thread, I said that with my tongue in my cheek, but it makes more sense to me now.

I would not be surprised in the least if Mark Webber took over from Alonso at Renault partnering Fisichella, while Kimi Raikonnen goes to Williams to partner Nico Rosberg.

I believe Michael Schumacher will stay another year at Ferrari quashing all the rumours about Raikonnen going to Ferrari next year. Keke Rosberg manages both Raikonnen and son Nico while Flavio Briatore manages Fisichella and Webber.

I could imagine that if Fisichella is finishing right with Alonso but that isn't happening so that car isn't that much faster than the rest of the field.

No, Alonso won't be looking at the tail of the Renault next year

Something for sure has gone wrong at McLaren but they have done wonders in the past rah

Guys if Alonso has 4 Championships by the age of 28 surely it would be easy enough to win 4 more by the time he is 36, that is a 50% success rate.

Why 36, cause he is the type that will retire at his peak :D :D

The only competition to Alonso IMHO in 2008 will be from Kovalainen and possibly Rosberg.
Done Well Done, don't know how will Well Done do in F1 but the odds are against him. Has he ever driven an F1 car ?
If Well Done does well in 2007 then maybe in 2008 but this is wild speculation

But I dont think Fisi is at the dump stage yet. He was second on points until last round, bit early yet.

Depending on who is in the Renault. Both MS and Kimi can beat Alonso and next year one of them might have the Renault.

You can wish all you want, but I have been wishing that for Williams for a couple of years now.
