Geeze you were up early for a Friday and postingJulian Mayo wrote:I think the MW - Kovi option is about all Renault can afford. Schuey will be at Ferrari or goooooooorn. No way he is going to bother grooming another team.

What's all this MW Renault stuff? Have we totally lost the faith with Williams? I suppose we couldn't blame him for quiting them but isn't that a bit Jenson? I mean without the controversy of course.

Seriously rah, do you think Ferrari have the car so he finishes on a high ? It looks like Ferrari struggles in race pace just like Honda. They just have a better race strategy.rah wrote:MS has enough money now. Everyone knows he wants to finish on a high. I think Briatore is just saying that to put pressure on Fisichella
Kimi will be at Ferrari or Renault next year, I really don't think he can consider any other team at the moment.
And aren't all the key people at Ferrari leaving at the end of this year ? Can anyone confirm ?
Renault will not pay lots of money for their drivers. They don't have a big budget like Ferrari or McLaren.
As for Kimi, there is McLaren

I think they can repeat what they did with Alonso with Kovalainen.rah wrote: I reckon the only people Renault want now are Kimi or MS. They need a champ or a soon to be champ. No one else could make marketing sense.
Marketing sense ? Did they count on Alonso winning the championship for them last year ?

Fisichella has even outpaced Alonso at testsSnowy wrote:The cost think of the cost!Renault running Kovi is the best option, he regularly tops the tests and has even outpaced Fer nandO (I sang his name! did you notice? It was very Abba) on occassion. I reckon he is quicker and that is why Fer nandO (I did it again!) jumped ship. He said pay me more or I go. And Renault said 'so go we have our secret weapon of mass domination; Kovi.' Fer nandO
said 'I'm off to Mclaren then' and they all laughed their collective heads off

Yes Kovalainen is good and that is why I am looking forward to watching someone able to fight with Alonso but moving to McLaren because of him

He is willing to take on Montoya or Raikkonen as long as it isn't Kovalainen, very logical

JayVee, I completely agree with you. Which obviously means I have been misunderstood.JayVee wrote: Seriously rah, do you think Ferrari have the car so he finishes on a high ? It looks like Ferrari struggles in race pace just like Honda. They just have a better race strategy.

Or is he too scared
Ferrari do not have the car to get the WDC. Probably wont until a few years after Todt buggers off. Too many people trying to get in line for his job. MS is a smart man. He is also a very rich man. He does not need a fat pay cheque, he needs a WDC. He will go to whatever team he thinks will help him win the WDC, regardless of the pay cheque.
Kimi could stay at McLaren, but I think that would be the third option. I reckon he has already signed a contract with Ferrari.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.
How 'bout Niki Lauda replaces Max Mosley!! It couldn't hurt, and he knows how to deal with Ecclestone.JayVee wrote:How about Briatore replaces Dennis![]()
Might as well

Hi dudes and dudettes, how's it going in groove town?
Mmm. As to this debate. Well, to start off, let me mention that Flavio is a git. He almost seems to relish taking apart the Renault 'second' driver. Fisi just hasn't got what he's after, which is another Alonso, so even though I voted that Fisi would leave at the end of the season, it's possible he could go before, if Flavio keeps on at him. He's almost 'Ron Dennision' in his approach to the second position, don't you think? And despite DC's great record at McClaren, DC didn't really chill out till he left. I wonder why that was? Dennis, of course. The man is a personal disaster area - he either loves you or hates you. Seems to me like Flav should give more support and less public criticism, he obviously is not a motivator, otherwise he wouldn't be so down on Fisi all the time.
As for Fisi, I don't rate him. It's no good having flashes of brilliance, he's gone sooner or later, unless he can turn his season around.

Flavio has a dark side granted but as yet he has been nothing but supportive of Fisi. Fisi is repeating his previous seasons results but perhaps for different reasons, like Kimi in the Mclaren he has been on the receiving end of some strange misfortune. The qualifying system is destroying their weekends. It is a shame that F1 should be using such contrived systems to make the race weekend interesting. Why don't they just introduce a ballast system so whoever wins one GP doesn't get to win the championship. Ask Andy Prioulx!F1-NUT wrote:Hi dudes and dudettes, how's it going in groove town?

What the flip was wrong with F1 right the way through the 60's, 70's, 80's and early 90's? Nothing that's what! Nothing at all! I hate Max

If you don't rate Fisi and I don't blame you but what do you expect Flavio to say ?F1-NUT wrote:Hi dudes and dudettes, how's it going in groove town?

Fisi goes on and on about how confident he is to win because he has a better engine than Alonso yet he finished 8th

By contrast, Alonso had double the fuel in Malaysia, qualified 8th and finished 2nd.
Even though I haven't seen much public critisism from Flavio for Fisichella, I wouldn't blame him for whatever he says. Fisichella is supposed to be the highly underrated driver, a future world champion, well he isn't and if Flavio wants to defend Renault's title next year, he better get someone other than Fisichella to do that. I think Kovalainen has a better chance and that is why I think Fisichella will be dumped before the end of the season.
