McLaren confirm on the radio to Hamilton that Alonso has an engine problem!

Alonso remains in the car though!

No improvements and Massa takes Pole ahead of Hamilton and Raikkonen.

Kubica in 4th ahead of Fisichella, Kovalainen, Heidfeld, Trulli, Rosberg and Alonso

McLaren are now stating that Alonso had a gearbox problem and not an engine problem.

A 10th place start is better than 20th.
Still not sure about that smoke that was coming out the rear though......

The track had oil on it from the GP 2 race earlier and it is being cleaned now.
