In an interview with Motoring Journalist Phil Branagan, published in Australian Motorsport News, Webbo states that when the RedBull offer was made, he decided he could not wait for the Renault Driver line up to be sorted. As he points out, it still (at the time of the interview) has not been decided. He also states that there is "a school of thought that Renault has topped out" and will decline from next year with the departure of Alonso, and the possible retirement of Flavio".
Given that he is managed by Flavio, and has stated that he would never go against Flavio's advice again (as he did when he joined Williams), it makes for some interesting ruminations.

I just hope that whatever team he chooses to be with will give him a car that can last till the end of a race and be competiitive.

With most teams in F1 its one or the other. In fact Webber has never had a choice.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

Rah, I thought he had a choice when he picked Williams against Flavio's advice ? :?

He may of had a choice of which team he was going to, but he didn't have a choice of speed or reliability.
