It's news from a rather questionable Spanish paper but could be worth pondering if true.

By the way, did Hamilton use the same engine after the crash in the qualifying? I doubt he did since the crash probably did not affect the engine well. If so, I expected him to start on position 20, instead of 10 (engine change). Comments?

According to the Speed Chanel commentators the car was rebuilt around the old engine, allowing LH to start in 10th spot (his qualifying position for Q3)

GhoGho is correct. He used the old engine and transmission allowing him to stay where he was. Didn't help him much though :)

Hamilton did not change engines. Had he done so, he would have started from 20th or the pitlane to change his strategy!

It was not bad, I agree. But unless they improve the reliability those would soon be clipped wings.

Given their last few races, compared to this, they just might have. The most common sight in F1, the last two years?....The lanky frame of MW walking away from a perfectly good race car, albeit with a 2% part of that vehicle rendering the entire vehicle inoperable
The team has stated that the big issue is that there has not been a singular big issue.......each failure has been an individual failure......not even a result of fixing one thing, and having somrthing further down the line, be it electronic, fuel, whatever, failing as a result of the fix.
Two failures are down to Reanult,

Yes and no.

DC and Webber managed to finish together twice (and that during the last three races)! Guess the reliability is improving.

However that might be misleading. Let's look at their track record: Together the duo had 9 retirements; Webber 4, DC 5. None happened because of the engine. In Webber's case two were gearbox problems, the other two hydraulics. As for DC, 2 were crashes, then one of each gearbox, driveshaft and brakes. So the engine is reliable... The team has some of the top engineers, which should translate to more reliable chassis. Now either the engineers are bungling up or the drivers are to blame. I refuse to believe the latter cuz both DC and Webber are solid drivers who time and again managed to prove themselves. That leaves us with one option.

I just hope RedBull puts in some more man hours into this and fix the car for good. They deserve to be higher up in the standings. At least a contender as strong as Renault if not better.
