And he sets a 1:16.743!! That is a stunning time given the much slower times half an hour or so ago!

Sato is the second driver on the track!

Several drivers now go out onto the track led by Friesacher then Villeneuve, Montoya, Button and Coulthard.

Raikkonen improves with a 1:16.308

Interesting comment from Jean Todt yesterday
Bridgestone, together with Ferrari at some time decided to compromise performance for safety, which we did. It also happened this year that we had to stop because we simply could not finish the race. You saw Rubens in Bahrain, you say Michael in Barcelona. So we learned from that and the tyres we took in N?rburgring, for example, were definitely a compromise. They were not the quickest tyres, but we knew we could finish the race

Coulthard takes second with a 1:17.182 but Montoya takes it back with a 1:16.965.

Michael on track and so are the 2 Renaults

Alonso jumps straight into second with a 1:16.826. Barrichello improves to 3rd with a 1:16.964
