Congratulations to Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull for a superb win at the British Grand Prix. That was an impressive display of dominance. Putting more than a 40 seconds gap to the championship leaders Brawn, this is most likley a turning point in the championship.
Mark Webber was a bit unlucky in qualifying yesterday and that cost him and robbed us the chance to see him fight with Vettel.
Rubens Barrichello would have been hoping to win the race to significantly close the gap to Button, he ended up dropping a place. What is more significant is that he wasn't too far ahead of Massa or Roberg.
Felipe Massa jumped from 11th to 4th. That was a massive improvement and it shows that on certain tracks and when the strategy works, 11th is a very good position to be in.
Nico Rosberg also improved from his starting position and managed to jump Jenson Button showing that the pace of the Williams is very good here.
Jenson Button was hoping for a win at home yet he only managed 6th and 3 places behind his teammate. It appears that Brawn are being caught by Ferrari, Williams and Toyota while Red Bull have lept ahead. This would be worrying for Button as his lead in the championship could get cut very quickly. Also with pressure comes mistakes.
Trulli started 4th and finished 7th. He wasn't much lighter than those around him yet lost 3 places to 3 different teams!
Kimi Raikkonen improved just 1 place and that would be dissapointing as he managed to have a very good start yet couldn't capitalise on that later in the race. With Nakajima dropping back from 5th to 11th, Raikkonen effectively didn't improve!
Alonso finishing 14th and Hamilton in 16th would have been one of their worst results on record!
While the race at the front was straight forward, towards the back there were many exciting fights particulary those involving Alonso, Hamilton and the two BMW Saubers.
A final word on Silverstone, what a great circuit and what a shame that it won't be holding F1 races in the future. Lets hope that is only temporary and we see Silverstone back soon.

Excellent race, I really enjoyed it, I think it is my favorite race so far this year.Ed wrote:Congratulations to Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull for a superb win at the British Grand Prix. I must say Vettel drove superbly so he is the driver of the day. Alonso provided lots of excitement with his battles against Heidfeld, he tried really hard to pass him with some very interesting maneuvers. Unfortunately Heidfeld is probably one of the hardest drivers to overtake. Hamilton and Alonso had a little bit of bad luck being stuck behind the BMW's, but I was not impressed with Hamiltons mistake.
Bourdais and Kovalainen I guess bad luck - Bourdais should have been a little bit more careful. But this is a direct cause due to the very wide front wings, which is again a very poor technical regulation introduced by Mosley and his overtake team. I knew that sooner or later the wide wing is going to cause some major trouble. In general, the mistake made by Bourdais is very minor, in normal circumstances it would have resulted in small wheel-to-wheel touch but unfortunately we now have a ridiculous Mammoth front wing.
Massa - great drive with high fuel load, and lucky that the strategy worked out.
Kimi - for some weird reason his strategy made him lose out on places that he gained.

Great pace by RED BULL with SEBASTIAN the obvious choice for DOTD. Under normal conditions MARK who is doing a fantastic job has no means to beat his team mate.
RUBENS was less than spectacular but somehow managed to stay in 3rd for a good podium. However, with commercial breaks on RTL "at the right time", I couldnt understand where he got his advantage against FELIPE(2nd best today..) and NICO at the second stop?
JENSON had the same effect as SEBASTIAN last time in his middle stint, with the car not moving at all but showed his pace in the end of the race, actually one more flawless drive given the package didnt really work for him at his home GP.
JARNO once again showed less race pace than TIMO but due to his qualifying got more points.
KIMI showed some spirited racing particularly in the first half, a very determined and well controlled start by him.
KAZUKI must be disappointed after his great qualifying.
There were some good fights between LEWIS, FERNANDO, NICK and ROBERT, unfortunately their cars are not for points at the moment.
I dont think the BRAWNS have finally fallen behind but RED BULL made a significant step now and their package was supreme at cloudy Silverstone. Probably the 2 cars are now at one level at various tracks and conditions. If RED BULL start dominating the Championship will be very close.
FERRARI, WILLIAMS and TOYOTA are quite close behind, say 2-3 tenths so it will be exciting to see further developments.
MCLAREN, RENAULT and BMW are quite a bit worse now but we all know their potential so come on guys...
FORCE INDIA have leapfrogged TORO ROSSO and moved closer to midfield.
A pity to lose Silverstone but I for one expect more action at Donington.

Well done to Vettel on a fine win even though we didn't see much of him
I would have like to see Webber next to him so they push each other.
Looks like Red Bull have made a big step, Brawn can't keep up. Newey is a genius
Barrichello beat Button this time! Maybe Barrichello didn't help him this time with setup
Impressed by Massa moving up so much!
Enjoyed watching Alonso but that car looked undriveable. Amazed that he didn't go off somewhere!!
Max is the loony
